These people who are acting like what happened with Seungri and the other celebrities is something that "they didn't expect in K-pop" or saying ridiculous things like "I liked K-pop better before" or acting like this only happens in Korea, what are you talking about? Were you not there for the entire #me too movement all over the world?
And even in Korea, before Shinee Jonghyun committing suicide there was Kim Ji Hoo, Ahn Jae Hwan, and Jang Chae Won.
Before Burning Sun there was Jang Ja-yeon ( Boys Over Flowers), who committed suicide at 29. Jang suffered clinical depression due to the sexual and physical abuse that she had received during her career. She was forced by her agent to have sex with a string of VIPs, including directors, media executives and CEOs and was beaten when she didn’t carry out the orders properly. Her agent Kim Sung-hoon, however, declined this accusation and he was never charged against.
Also the idea that it only happens in Korea is BLATANTLY RACIST.
Because again were you not there for all the school shootings and me too scandals? CRIME happens EVERYWHERE.
Les Moonves the chairman of the board, president and CEO of CBS was accused by multiple women of sexual harassment and misconduct in a Ronan Farrow investigation for the New Yorker. More women have come forward in the wake of the scandal. Moonves stepped down; however, his $120 million severance payout is in jeopardy after he purportedly destroyed evidence and misled investigators looking into the allegations.
Along with R Kelly and Bill Cosby there was Allison Mack former CW darling was arrested and charged with sex trafficking, sex trafficking conspiracy, conspiracy to commit forced labor, and racketeering conspiracy charges. Mack is accused of being a slave master in a women-branding secret sorority within the self-help group Nxivm. She pleaded not guilty to all charges and is out on bail awaiting trial.
I could go on for hundred more pages and the list of just the people who are involved only THIS YEAR will not end!
So please think before you speak people. Do your research. What happened is awful but let's not lose perspective.
