This poll is a hypothetical for a situation where there is only one slot on the team left, hence why there is no "both" option.
Propaganda : The guy's whole schtick is making metal remixes of video game soundtracks, and he plays all the instruments featured in his remixes himself (unless there's a guest or several involved) so either form of Toxtricity would work for him honestly depending on the mood!
The most epic Touhou boss theme finally got its most epic rock cover possible
"Necrofantasia", the theme of Yukari Yakumo from the Phantasm stage of Touhou 7: Ghostly Dream ~ Perfect Cherry Blossom. Cover by Jonny Atma a.k.a. "GaMetal", based upon the extended version from the album "Magical Astronomy".
And so, GaMetal c o o k e d once more. Seriously, this guy released last month the best cover of "Necrofantasia" in history [here's the link to both that and a mash-up I made between GaMetal's cover and its original song: https://www.tumblr.com/mashounen2003/770602520162746368], and now he releases this cover of the Nebula Gray final boss theme from Mega Man Battle Network 5. Just... wow.
Season 4 Episode 1
Featured on: FIRST STRIKE ~ SiIvaGunner: King for Another Day Tournament Original Soundtrack VOL. 1
Ripped by Jonny Atma
Ever since I began categorizing and tagging the posts on this blog by Season, I've been making a conscious effort of posting a balanced output of each Season. This has been a fantastic opportunity both for me to sort the blog's contents up more neatly, whilst also giving myself opportunity to relisten to albums I wouldn't have otherwise - if I notice a Season is lagging behind in posts on the blog, I can take that as an opportunity to relisten to that Season's albums in the background as I work. That's exactly what occured with Season 4 Episode 1, otherwise known as the year the King for Another Day tournament took place. And through that relisten, I rediscovered absolute gold.
Ink That is one of many miracles to take place during KFAD2 - a guest lending their talents to the event in the form of Jonny Atma of GaMetal fame. A legend in the lineup of VGM cover artists, Atma's sound is one I've loved for years, and he shows no signs of slowing down. Funny enough though, the guy appears to be a fan of the channel since even before contributing here - the Season 2 rip Dr. Wily Stage 1 & 2 - GaMetal was a parody of Jonny's style of metal covers, made by the man himself wearing a goofy wig. He's not just an amazing arranger, but someone who likely understands the spirit of the SiIvaGunner channel as a whole.
In line with that, Ink That isn't just a cover of Splatoon music, but a full-on high quality rip - it's a rearrangement of Hit That by The Offspring done in the style of Splatoon's multiplayer music, complete with squiddified vocals and a chiptune-y synth sound playing as the main instrument along with the intense guitarwork at play. It all comes together extremely well and sounds like it could've been made for Splatoon 2 right from the get-go - or at least, as if its a GaMetal cover of an already existing song.
KFAD2's gargantuan soundtrack is a joy to listen to specifically for surprise knockout hits like this that go absolutely above and beyond one's expectations. Funny enough, it almost feels like that happens more than it doesn't with KFAD2. Given its immense scope, its hard to say if there'll ever be an event on SiIva quite as legendary as it again.
Ohey, I should also uhhhhhh share the other paid work I've been doing!!!
Many of you may know about Jonny Atma, aka GaMetal on youtube, who does metal covers of video game music! In the past I've done yearly album covers for him, but lately he's switched to singles, and has asked me to do most of the single covers for him!!! It's been steady work and a LOT of fun to play with different art styles, and Jonny's been the absolute best client to work for!
On top of that, I've even done decals for him, which means on newer videos you'll see my work on his guitars. The thought of that still floors me to this day.
So... yeah! Technically I've still been making fanart this entire time alongside my original webcomic! Posted above are some of my personal favorites I've done.
