These are a few shots I took to show the progress of my first ever bike build. I had the privilege on the lovely Jon there to show me how it all goes down!
If anything could be awkward, my bike made sure it was awkward! We ended up using a torque wrench repeatedly to get the bottom bracket in far enough without damaging the threads; we replaced one set of bearings; the seat post is SUPER long (it definitely isn't ever leaving the frame!); securing the handlebars was a total mission and the pedals had what we thought was definitely a design default. Oh, the brake mechanism isn't long enough to grip the wheel rim either, so I need to go back and swap that for a bigger one on Monday :)
It took about 3-4 hours, but we stuck through rain, snow and a fucking freezing December day with some Down to Nothing, Underoath and Earth Crisis to motivate us! I'll post a picture of the final work! It's beautiful.
