I recently spent a few days in Barcelona to temporarily escape the winter in London and to do a bit of recon. On the first morning I was there, I woke up at 6am to do a 19km run up to the highest point in the area (512 metres). It was really invigorating but unfortunately the view wasn't too great. It's all about the experience though... Live it!

Last day of the year so of course I ran a marathon. 26.2 miles / 42.2km in 4:41:18. I was hoping to be a lot faster but unfortunately lack of nutrition and difficult terrain meant I cracked at 31km and had to slowly run, walk and hold back tears for the last quarter. Absolute brutality. Psychologically and physically tested today. Bring on the new year, new challenges and new growth!

Finally got some Altras! Ran a wet & windy 5k on Tuesday after unboxing them and PB'd with a time of 21:08. And today, l got a PB with a gusty 47:36 10k. 4-hour marathon before the end of the year? Power-up mode!

Winter is here at last. I ran a 1:46:50 (PB) half-marathon yesterday and then went to work later in the afternoon. Getting chilly being out on the bike but just love this job so much!
