💸 Dating goo can be a real roller coaster. A fun roller coaster that is. There could be problems here and there but in his eyes it’s nothing he can’t solve. Yes it is true that he prioritizes his job over you sometimes. But that’s because his job is very ‘demanding.’ But it pays well, so he hopes you understand.

💸 Now when it comes to you being Goo’s girlfriend. There are a lot of people you don’t know who are in Goo’s life. And he also doesn’t think it would be relevant for you to know all of them. He would probably introduce you to Jonggun who wonders why you haven’t left Goo yet. And maybe James who is rather aloof and is on pretty neutral terms with you. Its save to say that James likes you better than Goo. Goo had his legs thrown across your lap like a spoiled cat, flicking through videos on his phone at full volume, while Gun scrolled silently through emails on his.

You, nestled in between and minding your business, unlocked your own phone to check a message—just for a second.

And that was your first mistake.

Goo craned his neck a little too suddenly. "Wait, was that your home screen?"

You flinched. "Nope. You saw nothing."

Gun looked over, eyes glinting. "It looked like a picture."

“It’s called a background image,” you said dryly, locking your phone and hugging it to your chest. “Very common.”

"Of us," Goo added with a delighted grin. "I saw an arm. And unless you're cheating on us with some other ripped guy, that was definitely Gun's."

You buried your face in your hands. “You're making this weird.”

"We are weird, babe," Goo said, poking your cheek. "Now show us.”

“No.”

"Fine," he said, puffing up his chest like this was a negotiation. "Trade deal. You show us yours, we show you ours."

You gave him a suspicious squint. “Why do I feel like I’m going to regret this?”

Goo beamed, already unlocking his phone. “Because you absolutely will.”

He turned the screen toward you. His lock screen was—of course—a blurry meme from TikTok. Something incomprehensible with impact font text and a cursed face. You blinked at it.

“That tracks,” you muttered.

“Wait for it,” he said, and with a flourish, he swiped to his home screen.

There it was: you. Mid-sleep. Mouth hanging open. Face unflatteringly squished between Goo’s bicep and Gun’s chest. Hair a mess. Drooling.

“GOO.”

You lunged, trying to grab the phone, but he laughed and stretched his arm effortlessly out of reach. Your attempts to climb him only made it worse, especially when he let you get almost there before lifting it higher.

Gun chuckled softly from beside you. “Interesting choice.”

“Oh, we’re not done,” Goo said, still holding the phone hostage. “Gun, your turn.”

Gun pulled his own phone out with the calm menace of someone too confident. No flourish. No dramatics.

His lock screen was deceptively sweet—a photo of you and him at a recent charity gala, both dressed to the nines. His hand on your back. Your smile soft, almost shy.

You blinked. “That’s… actually nice.”

Gun glanced at you. “That’s the point.”

And then he turned the screen again—to the home screen.

You almost screamed.

There you were. Face flushed, lips parted, hair a mess, sweat glistening on your collarbones. It was post-something, very obviously, and your expression was dazed and high on bliss.

“Gun! What the hell—delete that!”

He raised an eyebrow, like he was confused by your reaction. “I like it.”

You buried your head in your hands. “You are both insane.”

“It’s art,” Goo added helpfully.

“Kill me now.”

“Alright, your turn,” Goo said, nudging you. “You promised.”

“I didn’t promise anything.”

Gun leaned closer. “We showed you ours. It’s only fair.”

You hesitated.

Goo pouted.

Gun stared.

You cracked.

“Fine,” you sighed. “But you’re not allowed to laugh.”

“No promises,” Goo said, already grinning.

“I will physically throw you off the balcony.”

“That’s flirting, and I accept.”

You unlocked your phone, handed it over with a grimace, and immediately turned to face the wall like some shamed anime character in exile.

“Lock screen first,” Goo announced.

A pause.

“Oh, it’s us!” he said, a little too enthusiastically. “That event last month. Damn, we look good.”

You muttered something incomprehensible into the couch cushion.

“And now the moment of truth,” Gun said, voice rich with amusement.

Another pause.

And then:

“Oh-ho-HO,” Goo cackled. “You creep. This is what you’ve been hiding?”

“Shut up,” you groaned, face burning.

Gun didn’t speak right away. But you felt the weight of his silence — that signature intensity like he was analyzing every pixel.

Your home screen was… well, it wasn’t that bad. To you. It was a candid photo you’d snuck one morning — the two of them, fresh out of the shower, towels slung low around their hips. Goo was mid-laugh, water dripping down his chest. Gun was looking into the mirror, head tilted back slightly, hair damp and slicked back. The lighting was ridiculous. Their muscles looked unfair.

“You took this?” Gun asked quietly.

You refused to turn around/

“Secret admirer,” Goo grinned. “And here I thought you were the innocent one.”

“I hate both of you.”

“You know,” Goo said, casually throwing his arm around your shoulders, “if you want more material, all you have to do is ask.”

You took it back with a scowl, swiping up to change the screen like your life depended on it.

“Not in front of the kids,” he whispered dramatically, looking at your phone like it had feelings.

‘Who the fuck are you?’ Goo drops the plastic bag onto the wooden floor, his glasses in his blond hair. The blonde stared at you in shock. Who is this sassy child? Hell he thought most of his family was dead? Goo scratched his head while trying to remember Jonggun’s family lore, only to be interrupted by you ‘Get out of my house your dandruff is getting everywhere.’ Goo stops scratching his head and looks you dead in the eyes. Why is this midget talking to him like that? You may be Jonggun’s sister but he’ll still beat your ass. ‘Gun tell your sister to be nice to me.’ ‘Tell her yourself.’ Goo clicked his tongue at Jonggun’s flippant response. ‘Ugh you gnat. Be nice. I’m your guest!’ ‘Guest? More like a louse’ Goo looks at you with a scowl. His head whipping towards Jonggun’s direction who was still sculpting the wood ‘Jonggun! Say something!’ Jonggun sighed. Putting the knife down, he walked up to you, placing a hand on your head. ‘What’s going on?’ Jonggun looked at you, waiting for your answer. Goo on the other hand also looked at you, gritting his teeth when you hug him around his torso and look up at him, your eyes intentionally bigger than normal and batting your eyelashes up at him innocently. ‘He hit me.’ Your sudden claim made Goo stutter to Jonggun. ‘SHE’S LYING.’ Jonggun flickered his gaze between you and Goo, his eyes scanning your face. You looked fine…no bruise. No red mark. You’re lying aren’t you? ‘Y/N’ ‘yes brother?’ Your innocent facade made Goo grip his blonde hair, his eyes burning on the back of your head. His teeth gride against each other. He knows it now. You’re no innocent girl…you’re a demon child.

Currently You’re sitting at the opposite side of the couch with Goo at the other end and Jonggun somewhere in the kitchen. Goo glared at you, scooting away as far as he can from you. You on the other hand looked at the TV. At least that was until you felt his glare burn into your skull. Your head slowly turned to him. ‘Stop staring you ant fucker.’ Goo tried to kick you, but you dodged and slapped him across the face. ‘Ow you bitch!’ ‘Who are you calling a bitch?’ Both you and Goo turned to find Jonggun standing in front of the couch with apron on and a whisk in his hand. His eyes stared dangerously at Goo who threw up his hands in the air. ‘jonggun!’ You practically threw yourself at him and buried your head in his shoulder. Gun looked at Goo with a glare while he rubbed your back. You master manipulator! You call him names and now that he’s busted you act like a victim! And why the hell is Gun falling for it too! Goo grumbled under his breath. ‘Apologize.’ What? Did Goo hear that right? Did Gun really just ask him to apologize to you? This abomination he calls a sister? THE DEMON?! No. No he won’t. ‘I’m not telling you again.’ ‘OKAY FINE!…jeez I’m sorry…’ Goo said, clearly not meaning it but who cares? All that mattered is that he had to apologize against his will and that made you feel great. You looked up from Jonggun’s shoulder and smiled at him, he patted your head and went back to the kitchen. The man seemed to enjoy your annoyance and began to smirk a little. Typical, you meet people like that in the manga section all the time. Being in the bookstore after a long time felt great…although you hoped not to see the blonde man again. Nah. You probably won’t. It was a stranger anyways. You don’t see men like that often liking such a novel. It took you only a couple of minutes to find him again, your eyes immediately drawn to the familiar cover. ONCE AGAIN you were in the bookstore. This time however at a different day and time…to avoid the obvious. You didn’t know how to feel. It was restocked and it seemed to even have some copies. No one really was in that section anyways so it was doable….now onto the manga section. Glancing a few times around you and peeking to see the manga section, you confirmed that the coast was clear. No one was there. Just some comics and manga’s…simple enough… right? You reached out for the volume, fingers wrapping around slightly thinner cover of the paper before a larger hand grabbed yours and the manga. You quickly retreated your hand. Goo crying because his teenage daughter is being a teenager. What’s the big deal? Both of them were actively going to clubs when they were her age.

‘You’re being too hard on the girl. You might even drive her away with that attitude’ Gun says in a rather aspirated tone. He can’t believe he has to talk some sense into Goo. He wonders how you put up with Goo being your dad. Goo hummed. Was he really being too hard? Is that how you feel?…he doesn’t want to be a strict parent or make you feel like you can’t tell him anything…he just wanted you to be safe…he still remembers how you changed his life. Goo was still an immature asshole. And then he became a dad to you. You were so tiny. So peaceful. He remembers your first steps. When you started talking. Laughing at him with one tooth. Your little hands. The first day of school. Baking cakes with him in the kitchen but getting the recipe wrong. When you held his hand because you were too scared to go down the slide in the playground. He wonders if you remember those moments too. Too many to count yet he remembers all of them as if it wasn’t years ago. You changed him…he has to be there for you. That’s what a parent does, doesn’t it? They have to make their child feel as if they can tell them everything. Not hide…was he too protective?…a soft but shaky breath left Goo’s lips…it makes his chest feel rather tight with guilt. His eyes turning back to the phone before a notification popped up. His breath hitched. ‘Gun. Go to the location i sent you. We’re seeing what demon has enchanted my daughter.’

Goo was currently hiding behind Gun who was standing in front of the movie theater. ‘I swear if that boy comes out…i’ll kill him…quietly…’ Jonggun just let out an irritated sigh. He could’ve done something productive but had to come because Goo would not stop calling him…besides. It would be interesting to see Goo’s reaction to the situation. Goo kept looking over at his watch…you could come out every second now…come on! It’s killing him. Goo feels nervous. Very nervous. He has never felt this level of worry before. Princess please don’t come out with some half baked boy. Actually. Don’t come out with a boy at all. Goo begins to grip Gun’s shoulders, his nails digging into his skin. His eyes darting to every part in his sight. Making sure he’ll spot you. ‘Get your hands off me.’ Gun swatted Goo’s hands off of him with a grunt. Goo just gripped him closer to him. ‘I’m scared…’ Goo peeped. Oh my gosh. He might just piss his pants. A familiar bundle of hair…and a pair of eyes he recognized as his own made him release his grip on Gun. He sees you looking back at him and waving. Relief washes over Goo. Thank god. He almost got worried…He waves back. Oh…maybe he was wrong…maybe there really isn’t a boy- just when Goo felt relief, a boy who was slightly taller than you hugged you from behind. What? Why does he recognize the boy? Why does he look so familiar? Goo squinted his eyes at the scene, adjusting his glasses. No way. No fucking way. Goo freezes in place…Jonggun’s son is your boyfriend? What? W.H.A.T. WHAT?! Goo turns his head towards Jonggun, who was smoking and watching the scene. He seemed unimpressed. Unbothered. Stoic. Normal. As if it’s okay. It’s not okay. It’s never okay. It’s never going to be okay. Goo. Is. Not. Okay. ‘Did you know about this?’ Goo’s voice was sharp and accusatory. He was angry. Very angry. ‘Would that have changed anything?’ Gun asked back. Still pretty laid back. His son had given him a smile and he just nodded back. He didn’t really mind what his son did. ‘Doesn’t take away that you can’t let your daughter be a teen.’ Goo glanced back at you. Then at Gun’s son who seemed just as fearless as his dad. Then at Gun. He’s going to faint. He’s going to actually faint. ‘Gun I’m going to beat your kid.’ He’s not okay. He’s not okay. This isn’t okay. Goo leaned against the car. Oh my god. ‘Stop being dramatic. And my kid will whoop your ass if you touch him.’ Goo didn’t even respond to Gun. He was too focused on the sight in front of him. You. And gun’s son. No…he can see all the memories crumbling. Other’s now stood still to watch what was happening. Gun looked at a Goo with his normalf stern expression. What a day. ‘Y-Y/N…my girl…my princess…why that boy…’ Goo’s voice cracked as he loudly sobbed on the street. ‘Get up. you’re embarrassing your kid.’ Goo sobbed even louder at Jonggun’s words. His hands covering his face and real tears falling down. Jonggun groaned. Ofcourse. Ofcourse he has to look after Goo again. First it was because they were debt collectors and he was reckless. Now he has to look after Goo in order to make sure he doesn’t embarrass his kid. Sigh. Gun grabbed Goo by the back of his head and threw him against the car. ‘Get in before you embarrass my kid too.’ Goo got in the car. Still crying against the glass. Gun had always been difficult to get close to—quiet, cold, unreadable. If someone managed a full conversation with him without getting an eye-roll or a cutting glare, it was a miracle. Most people didn’t bother trying. But there was one person who had managed to slip past his defenses. Not because of shared interests or deep compatibility, but because of one key reason:

They could control Goo.

Well, "control" was a strong word. But when Goo started getting too Goo—loud, dramatic, spinning in circles for no reason—this person could calm him down with just a word or a look. It was remarkable. In Gun’s eyes, borderline miraculous.

The first few times Gun noticed it, he thought it was a fluke. Goo just happened to quiet down around them. But after the fifth time Goo stopped an aggressive rant to spin on his heel and grin like a golden retriever, Gun realized what he had stumbled upon.

A solution.

“Do you have a Goo problem?” Gun had muttered to himself once, eyes narrowing in thought. “Get yourself a Goo tamer.”

That’s what they were: the Goo tamer. The only known countermeasure to Joongoo Kim's incessant chaos.

To say Gun appreciated their presence was an understatement. He didn’t like many people, but he tolerated them, which was as close as Gun ever got to affection. And if he could pawn Goo off for a few hours of peace? Even better.

But this week had been… rough.

Gun and Goo had been out of town for a job. One week, six cities, a dozen loan collections, and zero sleep thanks to Goo’s nonstop commentary, late-night rants, and increasingly elaborate hypothetical scenarios that Gun had no interest in entertaining.

By the time they got to the airport to fly back to Seoul, Gun was vibrating with exhaustion, eyes barely open, posture stiff. He could practically feel his blood pressure rising as Goo whined next to him about needing to use the restroom.

“I’ll be back!” Goo shouted dramatically, already halfway to the bathroom. “Watch my stuff, Gun! Don’t let anyone steal my lucky hoodie! Or my protein bars!”

Gun didn’t respond. He stared at the pile of bags and considered walking away.

Then, like divine intervention, a familiar voice called his name.

There they were. The Goo tamer. His saving grace.

Your timing, as always, was impeccable. You hadn’t planned to meet him at the airport—but Gun looked up from the baggage heap, and there you stood, like the universe had finally thrown him a bone.

“You look like hell,” you said casually.

“Feels accurate.”

You glanced at the luggage surrounding him, then tilted your head. “Goo?”

“Bathroom.”

“Ah.”

There was a beat of silence. Then Gun gestured subtly with a nod of his head.

“Come with me.”

You followed, no questions asked.

Across the terminal, Goo returned a few minutes later, humming to himself and shaking water off his hands. When he reached the baggage pile, he paused.

Then frowned.

Then froze.

Because Gun was gone.

Gun was gone--and so was his stuff.

Panicked, he spun in a full circle, trying to spot Gun, and more importantly, his worldly possessions.

It took him a moment, but there he was—off to the side, sitting on a bench tucked behind a line of potted plants, and he wasn't alone. Close. Too close. Your heads leaned together, looking at something on Gun’s phone.

Goo’s mouth dropped open.

Gun was showing you something? Voluntarily? In public?

He rushed over.

“Gun?!”

Gun didn’t look up. He said something low under his breath, and you laughed softly. Laughed.

Goo skidded to a stop in front of you both. “What is going on here?!”

You looked up innocently. “We were just catching up.”

“You—Gun doesn’t catch up with people!”

“I made an exception,” Gun said flatly.

“An exception?”

You grinned. “He showed me his vacation photos.”

“Gun does not take vacation photos!”

Gun locked eyes with him. “Apparently I do.”

The betrayal was immediate and all-consuming. Goo stared between you like he’d walked in on a crime scene. Which, in his mind, he had.

“You’re replacing me,” he whispered. “This is how it starts.”

“You just left for the bathroom,” you replied.

“I WAS GONE FOR FIVE MINUTES!”

Gun stood up, stretching. “We’re going to get food.”

Goo’s jaw dropped. “You’re getting food? Together?! Without me?!”

“I didn’t invite you,” Gun said, already walking.

“You never invite me!”

“I know.”

You shrugged at Goo, following after. “You coming or not?”

He hesitated.

“You already left me once today,” he muttered.

Gun didn’t even glance back. “Then stay here.”

As the two of you continute off, you turned, giving Goo a smile, “I’ll bring you leftovers.”

Goo didn’t move. Not right away. Just stood there in the middle of the airport, watching you both walk away.

He processed none of the logic. Only the betrayal.
