Jørgen...that name echoes far off in the fracture madness of his mind, like fragment of a forgotten past. He remembered what feels like forever ago when he arrived to the island or more so the ‘continent’ now. One of the first friendly faces he met had to be a young man name Jørgen; albeit they didn’t have most friendly interaction like two new friends.
But...he helped Jack craft that boat reach the zeppelin that had crashed out at sea. Course the said zeppelin and it’s contents belonging to the Reich have long since sank into abyss forever. Still,it could go with out saying his help alone allowed Jack to get a drastic amount of parts and tools he needed to assemble where he lives now at the airfield.
Although, even time after the loot & retrieval was finished, he did seek out Jørgen’s aid a few more times to help translate the few medical journals and books found aboard the vessel.
Since he wasn’t exactly fluent in German he needed someone to help translate, someone like Jørgen who appeared have had knowledge of the language. The perfect candidate to assist him in translating the journals he could use to improve his skills in the medical field to help any others or just himself in his time here.
It had been far too long since he last saw him let alone even heard from him. He decided to take the hike out to the coastline where he was last time, hopefully find his friend there. But,upon his arrival...he was only greeted by an empty encampment, items including strange contraptions the survivors always made remained in broken disarray. Extensive signs of abandonment and neglect, It seemed..nobody had been here in forever.
“Jørgen!?!. Jørgen!?!” he shouted a few more times with no response returned, just his voice echoing off and the sound of the coastal waves crashing against the sandy beaches. He lightly stepped across the sand and dirt making his way around the camp, trying to find any clues..something..just...anything.
Well other than one of those strange objects again..a flat rectangular, it had a single button on it at the bottom the mirror like front. Counting two other buttons on the side and one by itself on the other side, it was just as unusual as that large square one he saw awhile back.
Kinda reminded him to that strange ‘Sony camera’ that he found last year. Whatever the case,he’d take it with him. “...Thank you for the help you gave me,Jørgen.” Jack realizing that he may really be gone forever, left him with little other options,at least other than a placement of a simple crude grave marker at the center of the camp before he drew forth his wrinkled map. Quietly under breath whispering a few words at the paper before a single text appeared under ‘Jørgen’s camp: Deceased‘.
“I wish I had a chance to know more about who you were..maybe we could’a been friends...like a real friend though.” he sighed, “Till we meet again,Jørgen..”
He whispered a brief prayer as he bowed his head downward before the marker; with that done he had left in silence back to the trails returning home. There was no reason to remain there any longer..
