when i was like 11 i noticed that the sso name selector had the name option "persephone". perse in finnish means ass, so 11yo me thought "wow i must report this profanity to star stable" and sent them an email in english about how one of the names meant "ass phone".
my account was connected to my mom's email, so she saw the email. she complimeneted me on my english skills.
the only character that doesn't get replaced by a ninjago character in the ninja as soul riders au is kevin from star academy just because i find him funny for no apparent reason except that me and my friend have been sending each other these images around once or twice a year for almost as long as we've known each other.
also fun fact mythical horsepeople exist in SSL canon, which means that i have the ability to make lloyd PART HORSE instead of part dragon part oni.

anne was my favourite as a kid :9 here's an anne n alex i drew today and some older stuff.
the made-up backstory for this image is that elizabeth took the soulriders to northern jorvik or something to study, and they have to write a letter to fripp.
okay so i've been thinking of a sso/ssl x ninjago au for a while now so here are some thoughts about
soulriders as the ninja au
the ninja as the soulriders au (this one is more thought out)
if you're a ninjago fan who understands nothing about the jorvik games, you can still TRY to read the second part. i'll TRY to make it understandable.
PART 1: jorvik characters in ninjago
alex is pretty easy since she already wields the lightining circle, so she's lightining/jay. also her personality is maybe kinda like jay's, at least in the joking part, and they both are good with machines. next, i think linda would be ice/zane because 1. the moon feels very ice-y yknow idk 2. the moon circle is all about visions and zane randomly has prophetic dreams. also linda and zane are pretty similar. also i think nunchucks for alex and shurikens for linda works well.
now, whether to assign fire to lisa or anne is difficult. anne is of the sun circle and the sun is a ball of fire, so yknow. on the other hand the sun circle is kinda about space (yknow, portals and stuff) which you could link to cole's whole "feeling the earth" thing? lisa's whole appearance (my lisa design is basically just the old/ssl design) is very kai. plus she has red hair like fire/red ninja.
so i think anne = earth, lisa = fire. lisa's healing powers maybe don't translate to fire so well, but you can think of it as fire symbolizing life or whatever.
this would literally be so good if the fifth soulrider had a canon design and personality, since i'm pretty sure lloyd's power is just a combo of the creation elements and the fifth also just controls all the circles.
also if we're going off of northena's theory (i used to love northena's videos as a kid btw. i even named my clone wars oc "renee" after her sso account renee bluebridge lmaooo) that the sso mc is aideen's reincarnation (i can never remember if this is canon or not but the sso mc IS a reincarnation of the previous fifth soulriders) that would kinda parallel lloyd being the fsm's grandson?? also yeah aideen is the FSM
the horses could just be made into dragons in this au. alternatively, they can be equestrian ninja. the dragon option probably works better...
pandoria could just be one of the sixteen realms.
i'm not sure what garnok would be. in general, sso's "one big final villain" and ninjago's "every season has a different villain" structures don't really mix and i can't just make every character have an interesting replacement.
wu would either be fripp or elizabeth, but probably fripp.
james could somehow play nya's role although i don't know how that'd work since 1. nya is a billion times more complex as a character than james cloudmill. 2. alex is not kai.
also galloper thompson is gonna be there bcs i like galloper thompson and the cursed realm exists. maybe he replaces morro.
the biggest issue with this au is maybe that the green ninja is missing lol. maybe we can just say that lloyd garmadon is the fifth soulrider.
mr sands and dark core fit very well into the ninjago villains catalogue but i think the whole "dark riders parallel soulriders" thing is a bit dubious since ninjago doesn't have Evil Ninja as antagonists for more than one episode in s2 and those are literal clones.
i thought about assigning each dark rider a ninjago antagonist they'd replace, but i haven't played a whole lot of sso since the dark rider redesigns, and i don't remember them having too strong of personalities/lores before so i'm not sure who they could be. my immediate thought was katja and harumi because evil white hair girlies but that's about it.
okayyy now for the reverse!
PART 2: ninjago characters in jorvik

right off the bat, i think harumi as a dark rider would be so awesome it would be so cool. hello i really like harumi.
okay so, this one is just gonna be me assigning each ninja a ssl game basically.
first off, zane is linda/secret of pine hill. as far as i can remember, the plot of this game is that linda, who is a very diligent student, gets some visions of doom and also investigates pine hill mansion with lisa, finding out about some secrets related to the soul riders.
i think it would be totally rad if zane in this was a nindroid created by mr sands or under mr sands' orders. (mr sands is the grim looking man on the second game's cover and also an evil immortal guy who tries to free a tentacle monster named garnok) in addition to other stuff, he could discover that he's a nindroid while being in pine hill mansion.
then we got the RGB siblings as riddle of dark core, alex's game. listen up, i know alex is of the lightining circle, but otherwise it makes more sense for alex to be kai and nya. i say kai And nya because i can't neatly fit nya into this otherwise, and alex is good with machines which could be nya's thing, plus alex and kai's personalities match pretty well. james cloudmill (alex's younger brother whom she has to save in this game from dark rider katja) is lloyd.
lloyd would have to be in all of the games, and become the soul riders' friend over time. i'm not sure who wu or garmadon would be, but garmadon could be mr sands?? wu could possibly be fripp (a mysterious blue squirrel-like creature that guides the soulriders, insists he is a cosmic being and not a squirrel) again. he could be a shapeshifting creature residing in the secret stone circle and maybe arranging so that lloyd could live with one of the soulriders or druids when he finds out lloyd has been kicked out of darkley's. alternatively, he could just be a druid and takes in lloyd himself. that probably makes more sense?? or wu could be fripp and lloyd just lives in the stone circle.
jay and cole left.
jay not being adopted in this au could make him a great candidate for an anne/legend of pandoria replacement. yknow, rich kid who is kind of annoying and does modeling, that could be jay, right?
also there's a romance thing between anne and derek (a photographer sent by the government or smth whose camera can take pictures of supernatural things) and since jay and nya have a thing maybe nya could also take derek's role. i don't really do ships tho but either way it would give nya something to do, and she could have built the camera herself. nya having a magic camera would be cool right?
that would leave cole with game 1: mystery of the soulriders. i feel bad for just giving him the last one that's left, but as i said earth = star circle and their mom situations are at least something. in the game, lisa moves to jorvik from the big city with her father who got a job at the dark core oil rigs (they're actually doing evil garnok stuff, but also oil), and her mom is dead. i think that could work? the plot isn't very "specific", as in it's mostly just an introduction to the world, which is fine, but it doesn't give me a lot of parallels to draw.
lloyd would be introduced in this game, and maybe even be the one to give cole a hint on how to find the secret stone circle.
idk how lloyd's own story would go, but i would maybe wanna come up with something entirely separate from sso. he would naturally be the fifth soulrider tho. idk when that would come in.
i'm not sure who the dark riders would be, but i think harumi could be the fifth (or fourth, since the fourth dark rider in sso is new).
if lloyd is a kid during the ssl games and harumi is his age, it would leave enough time for her to have her parents die and have the soulriders involved in whatever the whole incident was, and then have her be adopted by like... the baronness or some other family idk, and then at the time that sso would take place she would become a dark rider.
since the dark riders have had? a theme of being the age of the soulriders, you'd need more evil teenagers somehow. morro? skylor could be one if chen owns GED or something and we believe the theory that GED and DC are working together and something idk. could echo zane be one? i mean the whole "echo zane is mr e" thing could be used here. also since zane is created by sands/dark core in this, that'd work.
