Lucy Bauer/Joseph Bauer (Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD)
Not sure if I’m going to watch the latest episode of AoS tonight or next weekend, but have another bunch of Lucy Bauer text post memes/Onion headlines.
(I didn’t realize it until I uploaded them all, but if you put these in the right order they basically tell her complete story arc in Season 4A :P)
Bonus:
(Because her actress, Lilli Birdsell, also plays Hannah/the Bicycle Girl zombie on The Walking Dead.)

As the old fandom saying goes, if you can’t find the content you want, make it yourself. So here’s a text post meme for everyone’s my favorite “pissed-off mad scientist ghost.”
I’ve been saving these to post today because the MCU wiki said that Lucy’s death day was February 6th 2017, but just now they’ve changed it to April 3rd. I’m not waiting that long, though, so I just went ahead and posted it now.
I have another Agents of Shield thing planned which will either be posted today or tomorrow, hopefully. (@healing-hanyou you already know what it is ( ͡º ͜ʖ ͡º))

I really like to think of Robbie Reyes (at least his Agents of SHIELD version) being a Hufflepuff. When you take away the Ghost Rider persona, which isn’t fully him anyways, his strongest defining characteristics are his loyalty and love for Gabe and the immense amount of hard work he puts into providing for him. I can’t think of any house that fits him more – he’s not stupid but I don’t think he cares about knowledge enough to be a Ravenclaw, he seems pretty content with where he is in life so I wouldn’t call him a Slytherin, and while he could definitely be a Gryffindor, Hufflepuff just seems to suit him better in my mind. Plus, I love this headcanon because he really breaks the usual Hufflepuff stereotype of a sweet, passive person who holds hands and makes daisy chains. Don’t get me wrong, I love that type of character, but it’s great to have Hufflepuffs who don’t fit the mold but still truly belong to their house.
As for the other characters in Robbie’s arc (not including mains since enough people have certainly Sorted them already), I think both Eli Morrow and Lucy Bauer could potentially be Ravenclaws or Slytherins. Both have the brains and the ambition. However, I’m leaning towards Lucy being a Ravenclaw, because she seemed more motivated by the lure of infinite knowledge, and Eli being a Slytherin, because he was more after power and recognition. Plus, one of the initial things that drew me to Lucy so strongly is that she seemed to me like a Ravenclaw gone wrong. On that note, Joseph Bauer could also be a Slytherin or a Ravenclaw, and I’m sort of half-and-half on him, since he’s got both Lucy’s obsession with knowledge and Eli’s desire for power.
Now that just leaves Gabe, and I’m not quite sure about him. I’m thinking Gryffindor or Ravenclaw, but I don’t have any firm conviction as to either one.
Real talk though, if Eli wasn’t secretly after the book then he’d be absolutely, 100% in the right about what was going down at Momentum Labs. Joseph had clearly been driven insane, Lucy wasn’t far behind, and they absolutely needed to be taken off of the project for both their own safety and those of their employees (and hopefully given some kind of psychiatric help - though I don’t think any kind of treatment could undo the damage made by the Darkhold). Until you know his ulterior motives, Eli seems perfectly reasonable about the whole situation - which makes The Reveal that much more shocking, imo.
For the ship thing, how about the Bauers?
AHHH THANK YOUUU for indulging my questionable ship tastes :D
Lucy Bauer/Joseph Bauer (Agents of Shield):
8 = I REALLY like this ship but it wouldn’t work out in canon.
9 = I REALLY like this ship and it should be/is canon!
A mix of these two. It is canon, but it can’t … really … be said to work out in the end, given the glaringly obvious fact that, you know … Lucy kills him in the end.
I’ll forever subscribe to the headcanon/interpretation that she wasn’t entirely in her right mind at the moment, might not have known the full extent of her powers (in that she knew they could cause people to kill each other but not to die themselves, as she had never been around to witness anyone dying from the ghost infection itself, and Joseph was tied down so he wouldn’t be a threat to anyone or himself), that she was intending to use the Darkhold to get him back to normal, and that she was in severe denial at the end (acknowledging Joseph’s death - “I wish Joseph was here to see this,” “I had a husband I loved” - but not being able to confront the reality of her own culpability) but … yeah, that is just headcanon. The show never explores her reaction to his death, and I can’t blame the script writers because there’s so much else going on, and I guess maybe it’s supposed to show that she’s so irredeemably evil at this point that she’d be okay with murdering her husband for information, but I’ll just live in my own reality.
As to why I actually like this ship, I admit it has very little screen time and a lot of it is just because I love Lucy so much so consequently I must like her relationships. But in the few scenes she and Joseph have together, particularly the flashback when they discover the Darkhold together, there does seem to be a genuine bond there. I like the fact that they seem to be very much equals - both brilliant scientists, both committed to their experiments, both in search of new possibilities. I mean, they scoured Outer Mongolia together in search of the Darkhold, sleeping in a yurt the whole time! Which Joseph smilingly called ‘romantic’ later! And then their hand-hold as they’re opening the Darkhold for the first time, and Lucy’s very genuine smile at him after they first create carbon. Dkldfjsldf I just think there’s something cute there.
I also think it’s interesting to see them both succumb to the Darkhold and the temptations it offers. Much like Anidala, there’s something so tragic and compelling about a love that tries but in the end cannot overcome.
Tl;dr this ship is trash but I have a very, very soft spot in my heart for it. (And don’t worry, I won’t go on such a long rant for the others! Which I’ll have to do later as I’m going off to see Wonder Woman now).
