After 3 YEARS of waiting and searching, I’ve finally found some behind-the-scenes material relating to Lucy! Doesn’t this make-up look fantastically spooky?

So I know it’s a little late but I just HAD to show you guys what my amazing sister made me for Christmas! 

Top one is a painting of my favorite problematique Ghost Ladies (TM) - Moaning Myrtle, Lucy Bauer (Agents of Shield) and Ava Starr (Ant-Man and the Wasp) with quotes from them in the background!!! For fun we were imagining that they are a morally-grey team of anti-heroes ala Suicide Squad, with Lucy as the stone-cold leader, Ava as the hypercompetent second-in-command, and Myrtle as the tagalong kid that the other two try to protect. They’re in a situation like Ava was in AMatW, where the shadowy organization they’re working for has promised them a cure to their current state if they do their dirty work. They’d be a nearly-unstoppable team, with all of them being near-impervious to harm and capable of infiltrating anything, and two of them being able to deal out massive amounts of pain (especially Lucy with her death-touch). I’m really not sure what Myrtle could do offensively, but she’d be an amazing spy. 

ALSO, my sister printed out my Moaning Myrtle FanFiction, Eternity (FFN | Ao3) and gave it a beautiful cover! It was SO cool to be able to hold and read one of my fics in physical form!

Two lady ghosts and the books they died for

So as anyone who’s followed me for a while knows, two of my favorite characters are Moaning Myrtle from Harry Potter and Lucy Bauer from Agents of SHIELD Season 4. I actually started this piece a little over a year ago, abandoned it (typical of me) and came back to it just recently. I really wanted to illustrate the similarities between these two characters, who (in my mind at least) are both very tragic. Both were murdered so that a man could gain access to the incredible but unnatural powers promised by a book, which later reappeared to cause all sorts of trouble for the protagonists of the story. 

Although Myrtle was a complete innocent while Lucy was complicit in lusting after the Darkhold, their backstories still echo one another’s. Here they are reaching out for what they can never hope to gain, while the books ensnare their victims with sinister words.

After watching Ant-Man and the Wasp this summer, I had the idea to add my third ghostly fave, Ava Starr, to the picture, but I realized that there was no way I could add a third subject without throwing the symmetry off-balance. Plus, although her story does share many similarities with Lucy’s, there’s no book involved, so the parallelism was lost.

Honestly I would be all over shipping Lucy Bauer x Ava Starr if the age difference between them was just a little bit smaller.
