My heart is always so sad on August 20th and I always feel so heavy and cumbersome … I always think about you throughout my day but on this day it feels different. Today it hurts. And I’m laying here and it’s 3 am and my tears are streaming down my face and I’m staring at the photo of you and Dean I have beside my bed and I have to get up in 2 hours to go to work and I’m going to be exhausted but I don’t care. I miss you I miss you I miss you.

I never met you Jerome but I miss you deeply , is that possible? To miss someone you never met?

Your films , your beautiful spirit , your character and your endless charm and humor have pulled me out of the darkest time in my life. You and dean have provided me and so many other people with a safe space to tuck away to when times are tough or just when we feel like having a good laugh. I’ve seen your movies so many times that they feel like home. Your memory feels like home. And I have no idea how I got through life before I discovered you and your work. I wish everyone knew you , I wish I could write your name in the clouds forever so everyone would have a chance to feel the way I , and so many others, feel about you.

I wish I could talk to you , and feel you, and lay in your arms and forget about life for awhile. I wish I could hear your voice in person and not through a television screen. The closest I can get to you is your movies , your photos , your words.

I’ll take that , I will always take that. Anything I can get.

I can only hope that when it’s my time I will meet you in heaven and I hope to know everything about you and for you to know me. Today is the only day you make me cry Jerome , the other 364 days of the year you bring me sunshine and laughter and healing and love and I admire you , I adore you, and I love you.
