A member of the electronic-music collective Space Circus, Josh has multiple releases, has written articles for Dubspot, and is currently running an educational series on Ableton Push via youtube.

Josh Spoon-Man On Mars EP (EP review)
Josh spoon is an electronic music producer and Man On Mars is his debut EP. The concept of the EP revolves around astronaut veering into the unknown by going to Mars and back.
Each track is an instrumental with the title of each track donating the progress the astronaut has made. The EP is really made to make the listener fill in the blanks and really see how the story unfolds in his own mind. This really part of the beauty of the EP that spans seven tracks and makes great impression. There's also a great use of samples to create a greater sense of immersion into the story. These tracks are all produced well and even without a theme would be great on there own. ''I.S.S.II'' Is one of my favorite tracks on the EP an it has this clicking electronic groove along with very good baselines and drum work that has a live feel to them. ''Cosmic Dance'' is right after that and has a slow wobbly groove and what sounds like a high pitch synth sound in there too.
I also have commend the atmosphere Josh Spoon creates with Man On Mars cause something like this wouldn't work if the tracks didn't have that spacy atmosphere and sound effects that make you feel like you're right there with the astronaut as he has a ''Hostile Entry'' into Mars. I like the variety vibes coming in on these tracks some of the track are a bit eerie and haunting like ''The Returns'' while others kind of are upbeat trap inspired bangers like ''King Red'' but still fit within the context of the EP.
I must say I completely enjoyed this EP. It was cohesive but never stagnant and really felt complete it was done. This is mainly due to nice instrumentation and good song progressions. It'd also been a while since and album or EP made my imagination run wild which is pretty cool. I'll definitely be looking out for future projects from Josh Spoon.
