Singer/Songwriter Josiah Mann Premieres His New Single “One Mistake”

Singer/songwriter Josiah Mann is the up and coming artist who’s driven by passion and perfectionism. As an entrepreneur, he was able to build and sell a software startup, which ended up funding his dreams of being a musician. “For a few years, I was focused solely on music—I knew that I probably wasn’t going to be saved by a record label, but I found I wasn’t yet a good enough entrepreneur to make it happen on my own,” Josiah reveals.

His new indie pop ballad “One Mistake” has a John Legend meets Jason Mraz sound in the music and a John Mayer meets Ed Sheeran in the lyrics and vocals. It’s the second release from his upcoming debut album, Grace.

“One Mistake” addresses that gray area during a rupture in a relationship where one steps outside for a fleeting moment. His confessional and emotionally moving lyrics capture it all, singing “One mistake/Sometimes that’s all it takes/One wrong move/Sometimes there’s just not room/I never saw it coming it took me by surprise/At the time it seemed to fill the emptiness but it was way too high a price.”

“This has never been about getting famous, it’s been about translating and expressing what is in my heart in the sincerest way I can,” shares Josiah.

Josiah Mann Shares His Indie Pop Single “Angel”

Indie-pop artist Josiah Mann has always been an underdog. Driven by passion and perfectionism, he’s defied outside expectations while pushing to fulfill inner ideals. After being bullied and picked on in middle school, he studied martial arts. He grew up in a family that struggled financially, he wanted to break that pattern, so he taught himself to code and started earning 6 figures. By the age of 35, he had started and sold a software startup for 7 figures. 

“In my life, my M.O. has been going against the grain,” the Springfield, Missouri-based artist says. “I’m not necessarily proud of that, I just do things differently—I feel like I only really learn through failure.”

He just released his debut indie pop single “Angel,” from his forthcoming debut album Grace. Josiah wrote “Angel” 16 years ago for his girlfriend after he fell in love for the first time. He ended up recording and gifting her this song for Valentines Day. It relives his experience of their first date. His voice is very John Mayer-like and his music is very Ed Sheeran meets John Mayer.

“This song is special to me because I spent thousands of hours honing my producing and singing skills with it - I knew it could be special, but it took me many years to bring it to its full potential while developing myself as an artist along the way,” shares Josiah.
