≈ blue harbor town hall. with @dazeddreams
Despite the fact these meetings for the local business owners were entirely optional, Roman felt backed into a corner by Ophelia, who insisted he needed to show his face again; his last attempt at attending a meeting not being the most productive of his or anyone else’s time. He had just stood in the corner, not really matching the energy of the group as others approached him for small-talk, and it was soon apparent they had all preferred the previous owner of Re-Chording anyway. There had been a couple who hadn’t aggravated him too much. And it was those familiar faces he was seeking out as he entered the hall this time around.
Nodding at the chairperson of the meeting — he wasn’t a complete unsociable animal after all — he wandered right to the back of the room upon noticing Josie immediately, beelining toward her in lieu with the free refreshments on offer, laid out on foldable picnic tables decorated with a cheap plastic tablecloth in a sorry attempt to brighten up the room. Most of the town hall was a beautiful building, but the rooms these sort of unimportant meetings were hosted in were old and in desperate need of repair; rickety floorboards that creaked despairingly with every step, chipped greige paint on the brick walls. A room just as miserable as he felt.
“I can’t imagine one productive thing I will get out of being here,” Was his greeting as he sat beside her on the foldable metal seat. “But in an effort to be more positive…at least it gets me out of the house.”
