Summary: The gang make a bet to kiss Ethan under the mistletoe

A/N: Just a lil Christmas drabble set in book one after Miami
“Bryce, you cannot be serious?”
“Oh I am deadly serious, Kingsley”
“$200 to whoever can get Ramsey under the mistletoe.” Josie says in disbelief, whilst Bryce sits opposite her on their table in the cafeteria, smirking at her.
“No, Dr Ramsey is a professional. He won’t kiss an intern for a bet. You are all being ridiculous.” Landry chimes in, disgusted by their antics.
“I mean we’d be kissing him not the other way round so as long as he doesn’t file a sexual harassment claim, we’ll be fine” Bryce jokes, erupting laughter for Josie.
“Bryce, it’s a great bet but that man is basically the grinch, and throw an intern into the mix? No one is going to be able to do that!” Josie states.
“Well, there is one intern that could.” Jackie retorts, looking pointedly at Josie.
“What the hell is that supposed to mean?”
“Nothing. We just all know you’re Ramsey favourite.” She taunts, picking up what’s left of her lunch and walking away
“Ignore her Josie, she’s just upset Ramsey chose you for Miami. She’ll get over it.” Sienna reassures, wrapping her arm around Josie.
As it turns out, Jackie wasn’t the only one upset with Ethan. Josie also held a certain grudge against him for Miami.
The way he looked at her in that dress. The way he kisses her. The way his arms held her. And the way his rejection shattered her heart, in a way she could never have foreseen. The way his voice rang in her head. “We can’t. We’ve already crossed a line. It will never happen again.”
The sound of Elijah and Bryce laughing at something on his phone pulls her from her thoughts.
“You know what, this competition sounds great but I’m out.”
“Oh come on Jo, you can’t back out just because you know you’ll lose!” Bryce says, trying to convince her to take part.
“To you?
“You know it.” He says with a wink
Before Josie can slap him with a cruel remark, her pager goes off, cutting the conversation short.
“Ugh, I have to go. My patient’s labs are back.” Josie moans.
“I’ll go with you, I’ve got some post ops to check up on.” Bryce says, getting up to leave with her and Elijah not so subtlety steals the untouched remains of Josie’s lunch as they turn to leave.
She arrives at the nurses desk, surprised to see Ethan already stood there. Josie turns to talk to him then sees Bryce staring at them wide eyed.
Or rather staring at what rests above them.
Then Josie glances up and she cannot believe it. The universe really did have a funny way of planning things out. Hanging right about Ethan was the green plant in question with a beautiful red bow tied around it.
She throws a smirk over her shoulder at Bryce then moves closer to Ethan.
“Well, well, well… You know the rules Dr Ramsey.” she says, pointing above them.
Ethan glances up at the plant in questions then mutters out a blunt “No”.
“So you’re okay with ruining Christmas?”
“Refusing to partake in a ridiculous Christmas tradition that end with me kissing my intern will not ruin Christmas.”
“See, I argue that it would.”
She looks up at him with those those pleading eyes, too enticing to say no.
With a sigh, he leans in to place a kiss on her cheek.
Josie turns her head at the last second, causing him to plant the kiss on her lips.
His lips unexpectedly collide with hers. But he doesn’t pull away. He allows it to linger, his lips brushing against hers for as long as he can publicly allow.
The sound of whispers around him causes him to quickly pull away, shooting these gossipers a signature Ethan Ramsey death glare. He turns back around to look at Josie but she is already gone, excitedly bounding over to Lahela.
“Hand it over Lahela!”
He continues to stare at her dumbfounded before composing himself. “No! Absolutely not! You said you were out so it doesn’t count!”
“Don’t be such a sore loser! You know I won! Fair and square!”
“No!”
“Yes!” She taunts after him as we walks away to check up on his patients.

Again, there's like 109281092809380293 things that they love about one another lol. For Ethan, one of them would be the way that Marchia does this little head bop whenever she eats her favorite ice cream (which is Cookies & Cream, by the way). It's so adorable.
For Marchia, she absolutely loves that Ethan would hug her from the back whenever she's dressing up in front of the mirror. It's also very hot of him to do that lol

Nat would pour Ethan a nice glass of scotch and order takeout from their favorite restaurant (which I HC is a little hole-in-the-wall Chinese place that makes the best Kung Pao Chicken in all of Boston). And the two of them would just relax on the couch, watching a mindless movie or TV show while Nat gives Ethan a neck massage.
And she'd spend the rest of the night riding his dick so hard, he forgets he had a bad day at all. 😏
