End of year appreciation shoutouts (part one)

When we did this year's Choices Spread Kindness celebration, I was in the midst of a depressive episode, so I couldn't drum up the energy to give a shout-out to everyone I wanted to. So I want to do a general appreciation post now, an hour away from the last day of the year, to thank you all for making this Tumblr experience brighter for me.

@aria-ashryver @rjschoicesstuff @cadybear420 Guys, I wouldn't have made it through this year without you. You're endlessly kind and supportive, brilliantly talented, and just wonderful people all around. I know you've all struggled with life this year, but I hope you know how amazing and worthy and deserving you are. Here's to making 2026 better.

@dutifullynuttywitch We've talked less this year, but I'm always thrilled to see a message from you. You inspire me all the time, and I'm so grateful to know you and be your friend. Thank you for indulging my Emma/Sebastyan and Lewyn/Callie madness!

I love that there are still so many incredible and talented creators and supporters in this fandom. The fact that 101 unique users were celebrated is a remarkable feat! However, I recognize that that list is not complete.

Even though our fandom is "small", it's still bigger than 101 users. I know there are users who didn't receive a shoutout. To them, I want to send this special message, You are important. Your presence matters in this fandom. Whether you have many supporters or only a close few, you matter. Your contributions matter. Please never forget the worth and value you have.

While 101 users were named in the event, only 22 users participated (at least once). Imagine how many more users could have been reached if all 101 users mentioned named 1 other person...

I encourage everyone, whether you participated in this event or not, to take a few minutes and reach out to someone in this fandom. Thank them for what they do. Check in on someone you haven't heard from in a while. Or just say hi. Our fandom is small but it's still here. Each of us makes a difference, each of us matters. This blog is one of my favorite things I've created in this fandom. It began during Covid to try to bring encouragement during those dark days when people were feeling low from social distancing and isolating. I wanted a place where we could celebrate and encourage each other. It was a way to bring our fandom closer through positive interactions, when the rest of the world was further away.
