It really doesn’t. This is a man who is regularly in my neighborhood and from whom I have cowered in silence when he comes knocking at my door when my father isn’t home. The fact that he has a bumper sticker threatening to shoot dead whoever pisses him off and knowing that he is an aggressive person makes me actually fear for my life for just being in the neighborhood. Y’all have heard the horror stories, but somehow you don’t believe that those things are actually going to happen. Where do the stories come from, I wonder...

And I would rather face the threat of being stabbed or strangled because I know enough self-defense to throw off a would-be strangler and a knife has less chance of being immediately fatal than a bullet.

I can’t tell if you were trying to be positive or passive-aggressive, but either way you have only strengthened my stance on gun control because maybe someday we’ll only have to worry about stabbings and strangulations without the fear of somebody firing a high-velocity projectile at your face with little provocation. Pulling a trigger is easy, especially when angry. Stabbing someone takes a little more force and thought.

Did you make pancake salt?

the last time i made pancakes i had come home exhausted from work, i might have been hormonal, and i was on the verge of being sick. i don’t get cravings often for anything at all, and even less so do i get cravings for sweeter breakfast food. it was 12am. i ask my roommate if she wants pancakes, but she says no. i get the brilliant idea to add hot choco mix to the pancakes to have choco pancakes

i misread the ingredients--or maybe i was just too foggy and delirious to have actually done it correctly, but i put way the fuck too much water in a whole ass batch. but i didn’t realize what i had done until i had attempted cooking....many pancakes, and wondering why none of them were cooking correctly

when i realized my mistake it was 1am and by the time i had remade the batch (but without the hot choco mix in it because i needed to punish myself) and ate the pancakes i wanted it was something like 1:30, 1:40am, and immediately afterwards i curled up on my couch and i don’t remember doing anything else the rest of the night
