she’s standing so still she might as well be just another tree - she’s not tall enough, but some day she looks just as lifeless. feet firmly planted in the soil, where the heavy rains of the season have turned the ground to a muddy quicksand - the body was found just a couple steps away from where she’s standing, halfway between her and the lake. she stares, and repaints the crime scene in her mind — to no avail. no hints are discovered, no leads unearthed: it’s a stillness that grips her by the throat and chokes the life out of her, just really slowly. she’s so engrossed in her observation, she almost doesn’t notice the reporter. almost, because by now she’s developed a sixth sense for them; an irking, an itch that grips her skin and makes her turn around, silently cursing the other deputies who left the perimeter unmanned. “— come on. it’s a crime scene, for god’s sakes.”

Eyes

Ambrosia is very much doe-eyed ; her irises limn a brilliant cerulean hue, framed in sooty lashes that sweep over a freckled complexion and tend to lower as she grows weary. Given the perpetual narrowness of her gaze (she has a propensity for being hypercritical without actually realizing it herself) her eyelids will be, in due course, beset with premature crow’s feet. Nevertheless, her moon eyed gaze is certainly a defining trait of hers, flanked by the attenuated and often unkempt arch of her brow. The best examples I could find are here and here.
