It has been almost 60 years since I have stopped at the scene of a horrific bus crash which killed eight children in the former village of Oldcastle on the outskirts of Windsor. I was there on that fateful day covering the story for the Windsor Star. Details are recounted in the book - My Life as a Reporter - available from Amazon. Although the crash occurred on December 21, 1966, it wasn't until 2014 that this memorial marker was placed at the site to remember the eight young victims. It's a day I will never forget and hopefully this plaque will not allow this tragedy to fade from the minds of those living in the area. Trees were also planted in the Park of Remembrance as a tribute to each victim. https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0GV487PM6
