There’s a strange gradient that Perihelion has been observing, between humans fully locked into the slightly unnatural, mechanical movements their “optimized tools” guide them into, and those who seem to move more with a predefined knowledge. The android itself has been using an optimized pen to repeatedly, confusedly draw portraits of people it knows, and recreate stills from Worldhoppers, and it still can’t pick up any feed activity from this pen that would be able to read that data from within its own head.
“I would understand reading data from only bots, but I don’t see how these tools work for reading human intent so precisely,” it says to a human who’s been making her own artwork nearby.
“What are you illustrating?”
