Reputation Management Strategies
As my journey to mastery closely comes to an anticipated end, I’ve valued and appreciated every course along the way. As I complete the course Reputation Management Strategies my competence of how to successfully represent my potential clients prior, during, and after a reputation crisis situation. Each week the curriculum progressed with aggressive and challenging assignments that focused on critical thinking skills as a public relations practitioner. The aspect of these skills perfected how to manage the client’s reputation through consistency, assertiveness, organization, knowledge, and eagerness. These skills were taught throughout the course by conducting research, evaluating methods and image reputation through all constituent groups, stakeholders, and public groups. We began the course off with utilizing these skills and developing a research proposal for evaluating the image of our client and developing what overall image was through the eyes of a key specific constituent group. As we evaluated image reputation, we created a media list. The media list contained media correspondents that would report on our client during crisis, not during a regular public relations campaign. We took it a step further and interjected ourselves will fully managing our client’s reputation, in order to be fully prepared for a potential crisis, we research possible business review site that could been relevant to the client’s reputation overall.
The final two weeks of the course we focused on developing a crisis communication plan specifically for our client’s. There were key principals included in this crisis communication plan such as, the executive summary of the client current status, the description of the crisis communications team, who the stakeholders and public groups were currently, the survival crisis kit/checklist, the employee media policy, the messaging criteria during a crisis, and the social media communication management. After all the fundamentals were established we ended the course with the research presentation, which evaluated and revealed the image reputation through a key constituent group. I chose to evaluate the constituent group of my client’s existing customers. For my research I conducted three interviews and documented my reasoning (introduction), methodology, findings, results, and conclusion.
Overall my experience throughout the course of RMS I favored one assignment in particular, which was researching the business review sites. This assignment allowed me to take into consideration the various sites that could effectively and efficiently benefit and/or harm my potential clients’ reputation. I feel like there was no corner left unturned with learning to develop and manage my potential clients’ image and reputation, in order to gain full control of any potential crisis situation. As well as prepare me to maintain, develop, and execute a crisis communication plan for proper precaution. These skills enhance my professional and personal life through enhancing my organizational, researching, and critical thinking skills.
