Marami pang kailangang gawin, Jovito. Iniwan tayo hindi para habang buhay na magluksa, kundi upang ipagpatuloy ang laban nila. Dala natin sa ating mga dibdib ang kanilang katotohanan, at dadalhin natin ito hanggang sa ating sariling kamatayan.
Marami pang kailangang gawin, Jovito. Maaaring mapagod, maaaring mapundi. Ngunit hindi dapat mawalan ng loob. Hindi maaaring matigil ang laban hangga't hindi nagwawagi.
Huwag kang mawalan ng pag-asa, anak. Dahil ang tagumpay natin ay kanila rin.
Some Paco Roman and Luna Rangers headcanons nobody asked for
jovenhernando ideklester this is late because I fell asleep yesterday hahaha. Sorry about that. Based nearly all of this off from what I remember from class
Paco Roman
Paco was in his late twenties when the Philippine-American war broke out. He was hesitant to join because he had his family to take care of, but eventually volunteered for Heneral Luna’s squad.
Don’t ask him about what he did during the Philippine-Spanish war. Seriously. Don’t.
While he’s always liked food, it wasn’t until he joined Heneral Luna’s squad that he actually started cooking.
It wasn’t out of choice. It was either that or suffer through burned rice and undercooked chicken.
He’s also started teaching some of the other men how to cook so that they don’t go hungry when he’s sent off on missions. Some of them can actually manage to cook decent sinigang now.
When he knows that its someone’s birthday, he tries his best to make their favorite meal (so long as it’s within budget)
He’s also the one managing expenses for the squad
Paco’s the one frequently sent out on missions... probably because he always brings back food, tobacco, alcohol, or anything he knows the men would enjoy. He uses his own funds.
He isn’t supposed to bring anything back, but Heneral Luna hasn’t really scolded him or anything so he just continues to do so.
It must be because of the regular supply of tobacco he gives to Luna
PACO IS THE TEAM MOM. No question about it.
He’s the one that the younger recruits go to when they have a problem, or just want someone to talk to.
Paco can’t take compliments well. He mostly just ignores them or gets annoyed
He’s also a bit bad at small talk. He prefers to just keep quiet and nod along to whatever everyone else says.
He doesn’t think much of Gregorio del Pilar. He doesn’t think the young man is ready to be a general.
He doesn’t like Emilio Aguinaldo or any of the other members of the Cabinet for that matter.
He will never ever tell that to anyone however since he doesn’t like confronting people directly.
He isn’t above accidentally kicking stones at their boots or ignoring their orders though.
Rusca found out about that though and will never let him live it down.
Paco will never admit to it, but he likes seeing Heneral Luna scold people. He sometimes manipulates the situation so that Luna would scream at someone.
Luna Rangers
All of them are really bad drunks. Except for Heneral Luna, all of them drink to pass out.
Once while drinking, they lost Jose Bernal. They found him during the evening of the next day sprawled among the talahib with his hat and one of his boots missing.
Now whenever someone disappears, they say, “Baka na-Jose Bernal siya! Hanapin sa talahib!”
Rusca, Paco, and Luna frequently send letters home. The Bernal brothers prefer to save their storytelling for when they get back home.
Rusca may or may not have stolen Joven’s glasses more than once.
Paco is always the one getting the glasses back. Rusca teases him for it.
Heneral Luna actually likes to teach. When he has enough free time, he teaches Rusca fencing.
Heneral Luna tried to teach them French once. Manuel Bernal was the only one who managed a halfway decent “bonjour”
The Bernal brothers are the ones in charge of taking care of horses. Manuel likes to talk to them while he grooms their coat. “Kamusta na? Parang bumibigat amo mo a? Sarap kasi luto ni Paco.”
