Jucarii, the Greek god of fire and war, is the founder of the Italian Jocasta, which was an independent city on the Italian peninsula from the 4th century BC. He was the son of Aeetes, the goddess of the winds, who was himself the son of Eurystheus, the god of the sun.
As a member of the royal family, the god of the winds visited his sister, who bore a son named Jovino, whom he loved. Jovino was a devoted follower of his father, however, and in accordance with his father's will, when his father died, he married Eurystheus' granddaughter Polydamas, although she did not wish to have him wed so her father's legacy was continued. In order to make Polydamas happy, Jovino convinced her to sacrifice herself by setting fire to the city. When the fire spread across the peninsula and destroyed the islands, Jovino went on to become the founder of the city of Jocasta, and the Jovian goddess was also known as the patron of the Jucan people.

Today, Jucarii's image is one of the most recognizable in the world, as he is depicted in countless sculptures, paintings, posters, and many other forms of art. He is also the subject of many myths and legends, including one that says that he is the creator of all things, but also one that claims he created only fire. or, at least, the first two: fire and wind. Jovian people were believed to possess the powers of the latter.
