Regarding Joyrider’s ending, if Jack did shoot it at Danny, I can see two possible outcomes if Danny did get “split”. Either 1) Jack thinks he just killed his son, or 2) Jack thinks his son died sometime ago and this ghost had been “playing with the body” for who knows how long. Either way, Danny’s got a lot of explaining to do (unless nothing happens.)
(Joyrider)
Yep. Really no great outcome there.
If Danny were in a good state of mind, the very obvious correct answer is "No thank you Dad I have to go somewhere else bye." Because if Melissa is correct, and he (as Phantom) is torn out of his (oops dead) body, that's not something he'd want Jack to be there to witness for all the above reasons.
But there's the part of Danny that's clinging so desperately to his own half-ghost interpretation, and his dad is maybe offering him the chance to prove it. Maybe it'll do nothing to him, like with any normal human. Maybe it would do something else, some "else" that only happens to half-ghosts.
Danny already knows what happens to dead bodies possessed by ghosts that are hit with the Fentonzooka. He witnessed it when Sam shot Melissa at the mall. So the hope Danny has here is that he can put this fear to bed, so long as the Fentonzooka does something else.
