Not really. What made me raise my eyebrows, though, was when Joseph Potter posted a selfie from the gym. He's totally ripped! I mean, what were they filming in season 3, and why did he need to look like that? 😅😅

Taylor really is stunning. But his looks would have been a distraction because he isn't a strong enough actor to pull you into a character.

Jacob and Sam are definitely attractive but you are able to move past their looks because they make their characters so entertaining.

I first saw Taylor on the show Mink. Granted he was playing a nude model but I couldn't tell you one word he said and he had several scenes. The whole time I was thinking what a beautiful man.

I think Joseph has that classic Old World European look. Which fits in great with the role of Nicki. But he definitely wasn't how I visualize Nicki.

Taylor is just an example of someone who would fit the role of Nicolas better, someone who is dazzlingly beautiful. There are plenty of actors in this world with both stunning looks and acting talent. Also, I don't get why that anon is so outraged about me judging an actor's appearance. Like, you never do that? I'm sorry, but Joseph is just average looking, which becomes pretty obvious when he's standing next to men as beautiful as Sam, Jacob, and Assad. Let me remind you once again: Nicky is a boy of infinite beauty.

I like this blog because I thought we could talk about anything here. Personally, I'm fed up with discussions about Pip and her overblown ambitions, but I don't jump down the throat of everyone who brings her up.

Hey OP, I'm the one who was triggered by your ask. Sorry about that. I thought you were trolling us because someone had already complained about Daniel Molloy's age that day and someone else had complained about the actress playing Akasha just before your post. I thought someone was bored and planning to complain about every cast member's appearance.

But I understand your point. I think that Joseph Potter is very handsome in real life, but he was made to look less attractive for the role of Nicky. I think this was a deliberate choice to emphasise that Lestat loved Nicky for who he was as a person and not for his appearance. Lestat thought Nicky was beautiful because he loved him. (We all think that the people we love are the nicest, kindest, smartest and most beautiful people in the world.)

I think it’s ok to say that he wouldn’t be your first choice. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What Lestat finds “beautiful” has nothing to do with what we find beautiful… Not sure this other guy is a better actor. I guess it’s all in the how it’s said.

More importantly, I think recasting cast characters isn’t terribly helpful at this point. We didn’t see Joseph do much in S2. Let’s see how he does in S3.

(Also, it speaks to an earlier point someone made about moving past gossip/conversation you don’t like.)
