[UNBOXING] Mae Shika Mukanee - AKB48 (Theater Edition)
You mentioned how AKB is not doing well, so they are taking members away from other groups--How close do you think they are to just making "JPN48"? Do you think they will simply dissolve all other groups and try to keep AKB only before they get that far?
Hi anon ( o°^°)/
I think we’re actually going further and further from JPN48.
If there was a JPN48 it would be something like top members from each groups participating in some kind of super senbatsu, no? At least that’s how I would imagine it. If members don’t come from all over Japan, you can’t really call it “JPN48”.
Problem is that instead management is centralizing some of the family best players or more promising ones in Tokyo, making them AKB and of course, giving more weight to AKB. It goes the total opposite way of wanting to bring all the groups up and create a fairly distributed JPN48.
So no, no JPN48. Just everything that would work to boost AKB sales and ensure the group remains entertaining in years to come… Whatever happens to sister groups in exchange ( ”>_>).
For now sister groups bring in big cash so there is no reason for management to get rid of them, but if someday Aki-p got bored with one of them he could totally ditch it or dissolve it, sure.
Now let’s imagine AKB’s sales kept dropping. They could get dangerously close from SKE ones and I don’t think Aki-P would let a sister group pass ahead. He could do something crazy like merge both groups…
>_>”
I better stop there or I’ll give myself nightmares. Just saying that anything could happen but management is set at keeping “AKB” their main player… (would totally prefer they treat all groups equally but the old man’s mind is a mystery to all)
Note : Even if it’s labelled AKB, the general elections single is the closest we have from an all-48 / JPN48 release (as fans get to vote for whoever they want in the family), but voting slips only coming with AKB single and fact that members are ranked / labelled and promoted as “AKB” afterward probably keeps some people from voting and explains why some fans would rather have independent sister groups elections (when I think having ballots in all groups spring releases would work just fine).
