Southern Resident Jpod Orca by Karen Fuller Via Flickr: It's been almost a year since I have seen the J,K and Lpods near where I live. Today, it was just the Jpod. They usually only come this far into Puget Sound, at this time of year. They are foraging for Chinook salmon. It's their main source of food. The Chinook salmon are endangered, and so are the orcas. Not a good combo. It sure was a joy to see them.
