“you destroyed me, and i apologized.”
You’ve been with him for almost 7 years now and you still love him as much as you did on the first day you met. But who thought that he didn’t feel the same way anymore? But you continued to love him, even though he keeps giving you the ‘cold shoulder’. You still would wake up early in the morning and make him breakfast, walk him to the door and give him a peck on the cheek, cuddle him to sleep, and do cheesy things with him.
But today? Today was different.
You were walking down the street happily as you decided to surprise jinyoung at work and bring him his favorite foods. Hamburger, Pizza and Meat. Back then, you both would eat lunch together and play food. Your smile grew as your remember those happy days.
As you were almost at the building, you saw them, sitting under the bench. again. You weren’t really the ‘i show that i’m jealous’ type of girl.You covered everything with a smile, even though it hurts deep inside. You can feel your heart ache, just by seeing them happy together, smiling widely. jinyoung’s arm around the girl and endless laughing. Being a strong woman you are, you decided not to disturb them and wait until jinyoung leaves work.
7:30. He’s out.You looked up and saw him, walking towards the exit door. He smiled while waving goodbye to his co-workers. His smile, can cure a thousand lives. A smile you still love until now. The smile you used to see every morning when you wake him up. But his smile faded as he saw you sitting there on the bench, under the tree.
“Were you here to bring me lunch? Because if you were’ you should’ve told me so i could’ve waited.” He sighed as he approached you, seeing the box of food you were about to give him hours ago, that is now cold. Yes, they were cold, but not as cold as his heart.
“I was about to surprise you, but a friend was with you and you seemed to be happy with her, so i, decided not to disturb you.” You nodded, standing up to finally meet his eyes. The eyes that was once glued to you, every single day you had with him.
“Y/N, you know her. don’t address her as a ‘friend.” He sighed then shook his head in disbelief, hands on his waist as he looked anywhere but your eyes.
“Jinyoung, do you not love me anymore?” You asked as you looked down, making him look at you again, hand still on his waist.
“What?”
Finally, you looked up and met his eyes again. But again, you asked the same question to him with confidence. The question you knew what was the answer already, but refused to believe the hurtful truth, “Do you not love me anymore, jinyoung?”
“I don’t.” He answered without hesitation. The snow started to fall. It was cold even though you had worn warm clothes. You needed warmth. His warmth.
“I know, i just wanted to ask if it was true, since you’re always cold to me.” A tear escaped your eye. but you wiped it right away. “If you already knew, why bother asking, Y/N?”
You’ve had enough. you wanted to tell him how you feel. how you feel about him and how you feel about your relationship. But of course, he doesn’t care anymore. Because, after all the dates you’ve had, all the sunset viewing, all the happy selcas you took from your phone, all the moments you cooked together and all things you did with him, he doesn’t love you anymore.
“let’s break up.” He snapped. It took you back to reality. Before you could even notice, you were already crying. Crying over the same man, who hurt you hundred times.
you sobbed in front of him, and he didn’t do anything. he just looked at you, without any expression in his face.
“I..alright. it’s hard to find someone like you, jinyoung. someone who used to take care of me when i was sick, someone who used to call me ‘jagiya’, someone who used to say ‘i love you’ to me. someone who used to say ‘i’m thankful to have you. someone who used to love me. but i hope, you know it’s hard to find someone like me too. someone who still pecks her boyfriend on the cheek before going to work, someone who enjoys the dates they had even though her boyfriend doesn’t and someone who continues to love the person she loved since the first day they met.” You confessed, still crying to him. You wiped your tears, and saw him, crying too. But you kept in mind what he said earlier.
“I’m going, jinyoung.” You breathed heavily and tried to smile and walk away. As you were block away from him, you heard him whisper.
“Y/N...” He whispered, hoping you’d hear him.
No Y/N, don’t look back. you murmured to yourself as you continue to walk away from
“Close your eyes, and when you open them, i’ll be right in front of you when you need me.” He smiled as he remember the words you said to him when he was needing your comfort the day his mother got into a car accident. So he thought, he should do it again, since it was a perfect time to do it again.
So he closed his eyes slowly, expecting you in front of him. He smiled then opened his eyes after. “no..” he keeps repeating to himself, bringing him back to reality, that you’re really gone.
as for you, you couldn’t stand to leave him just there, so you stood behind a lamp post, watching him from afar, but no tears were coming out of your eyes anymore.
