family.
I’m coming back from this long hiatus to spill my mind a bit.
As mentioned in previous posts, I’m a Jr. High leader at my church. My girls are now in 8th grade and the series we are walking through this month is about family. If I was in charge of picking the series to do, I would not have picked one about family. I am so challenged in my walk with my own family that I am so discouraged when thinking about having to lead my girls through their family struggles. So far, every week that I have gone over the small group notes I’ve felt upset that this is what we have to be talking about, because I should be the one being led through this, not the other way around. In all honesty, I really don’t like my family. Throughout numerous family holiday dinners and birthday celebrations and weddings, and even after the teen angst wore off, I feel so disconnected. Maybe it’s because our personalities clash, maybe its because I’m the only one that loves Jesus, whatever it is, it makes having a healthy relationship difficult.
I understand that God uses the unqualified to serve His Kingdom, but I feel beyond unqualified regarding this topic. They need a leader who has actually dealt with their family issues in a healthy way, and who have actually worked toward a good relationship with their family.
I don’t know. I don’t feel like a good example. God can use me here, I just don’t know how.
so i remember back in jr. high when my friends and i were really into Twilight and we were gonna do our own parody (because twilight spoofs were really popular) and my friends all voted me as Bella and i just kinda remembered out of nowhere and i got really sad and nostalgic because iI’m only friends with 1 of the people who was gonna be in it and i feel like so much has changed since then like.... wow
Attack on Titan Jr. High, episode 9 and they’re playing “Call Your Name.”
I remember about 4 years ago, in my math class, my teacher, Mrs.C, she saw the boys in the hall walking around with their pants hanging low, and their boxers exposed. I remember, the words she spoke on that day, “Why do you guys do that? Do you think it’s cool? I know, when I get dressed in the morning, I don’t want people to see my underwear, so why do you want people to see yours? Maybe, I should join the cool kids, and drop my pants so you see my underwear. Do you want to see my underwear?” to this they shook their heads no, and she finished with, “Then why would anyone want to see yours.” and this was the day, I knew for certain, I would like this class.

Hey you! Yes you, there, with your awful frizzy hair and mouthful of braces. You with your knobby knees and secret love of books about horses. I’d like to give you a few tips to save us both some grief.
That boy is not for you. I know He’s cute, now, with his sandy brown hair, but he’s mean. Not in the “he’s mean because he likes you and you guys are 11” kind of way. He’s mean. There’s…
