Something that has always proved to be an instant picker-upper for her is reading some of her favourite detective novels. You’d think with the amount of clandestine and deductive work in her lifestyle, she’d be bored out of her mind of that theme, but that certainly wasn’t the case. Her love for mystery novels today was just as strong as it was when she was a child.
And so she was immersed in (re-)reading one of her absolute favourites: Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie, completely unaware that she has been standing in the elevator for nearly thirty minutes already, but a prod from someone who has used the elevator multiple times during that time period broke her out of her trance.
She looked a little lost now that she was snatched out of the fictive world of her novel, and back into the real world, “sorry, did you say something?”
