What goes bump in the night //J-tech-officer

Nearly three weeks after returning home, Hannibal had to go on a bit of a business trip. It would last about a week and Zombi didn't have to come so he had her stay at the house with Gwen as a 'just-in-case'. Told her to plan the wedding some, and left her enough money to start sorting things out and maybe but a few well needed items for it. He left on Saturday night and returned early that next Saturday. He would have been home Sunday, but he saw an opportunity to get home early and he took it. With no texts or call, he stepped into the home, telling Zombi-- who was reading in his big chair-- she could head back home. Looking at his clock, it was almost 12:30. He could easily go to bed and still not wake up too tired. He left his bags down there and walked up the stairs quietly, into his dark bedroom, looking his jacket and shoes along the way, and crawling into bed with her.

A pirate's manners

A known name amongst the ports was that of a pirate merchant named Hannibal Chau. He was a ruthless and talented fire bender from the western fire nation who was captain of a 100 man crew aboard an old, but now decorated fire nation army boat. No one knew how it came Into position and no one really asked.

He traveled frequently. From the North Pole to the south, buying, trading, and selling along the way. He stayed mostly around earth kingdom, making himself wealthy off the many goods that came through.

One of his favorite places happened to be a little metal bending shop on the south side port in the earth kingdom. A young lady worked there and always was nice to him no matter what she had heard about him—at least that’s what he thought. He came often for commissions and to trade metals with her. Like he was planning to do right now, walking into her shop and a cloth bag of meteor bits for her.

Home sweet home

It had been at least a few hours ago and Hannibal couldn't be happier. As much fun as being a normal man, he liked being his good old self. He had showered and shave the stubble he had let grow over the last two weeks of his vacation and was half dressed in a suit-- slacks and a vest-top. He put his earring back in and put on his usually rings.

Door flying open, Gwen rushed into the lab, barely skidding to a stop to avoid colliding with his desk. "Hermann! They just announced--" quick pause to catch her breath-- "they're pulling Crimson and Cherno from the bay. The museum gave us the funding--they're gonna let us get them back to semi-working condition."

Hermann looked up from his work, sliding down the ladder the minute he heard Gwen speak. He didn't even bother to grab his cane, he just hobbled over to her, a look of glee on his face.

"Gwen that is wonderful news!" He grinned. "That's amazing to hear...I wonder what made them change their minds? Oh this is just fantastic!"
