My brain is haunting me with thoughts about what could happen to Pomba if he's revived. If Remi and Kemi have already gone and escaped hexatombe reasonably thinking he's dead... (Kemi is wanting a new start anyway and Remi is kinda an ass /affectionate)

Juan seeing this pathetic lost dove, he's got no one left and no where to go. Well, Pomba did write him a letter and he was the only person in this damned game who was honest about his thoughts about killing Juan...

Pomba can be useful, he's not an innocent kid (despite how many people assume the contrary) he's smart, stealthy, and probably very useful when he's not constantly on death's door. Pigeons blend in well (ones presumed dead even moreso) especially in comparison to the literal devil.

Juan definitely wouldn't see them as equals after his ascension but the throne is probably lonely... A little pet bird would be good company, and Juan did grow a bit of a soft spot for him. For Pomba a gilded cage with the safety of someone you know is better than a cold lonely world, pigeons and doves are social birds after all...

Juan who had to see the only person in the hexatombe who saw him as more as a sacrifice, the only person he identified with, die because he went crazy and he couldn't do anything to prevent it.

(He keeps Jasper's drawing on the throne, but sometimes he gets so guilty imagining what Jasper would think of him going back to his old ways, that the drawing is already stained with tears of blood)

Me: yeah I'll just write a little one-shot about Pomba and Juan immediately post Hexatombe. Nothing too crazy, I haven't done any serious writing since I was in highschool so it's best to pace myself...

Several days later: 4am, almost 2k words in, unsure if I'm at the halfway point yet (I don't think I am if the outline I wrote is accurate 🙃)... Whoops...

(in all seriousness though I love this series and community so much, it's given me back so much creativity and drive that I thought had been lost forever)
