When Willy opened the front door, he did not think Luka would be the one knocking. Luka was drenched and shaking, courtesy of the Autumn rain.
“Juancho!” Willy called out, “get some clothes and a towel, Luka’s here!”
“Luka’s here?!” Juancho yelled back.
“Yes!” Thudding noises came from upstairs and Willy guided Luka into the living room. Juancho barreled down the stairs with clothes and towels in his arms, dropping them onto the couch right beside Luka. Willy took a towel and started drying Luka’s hair roughly.
“Juancho, go get some hot chocolate for Luka.”
Luka sputtered, “I’m not a child!” But Juancho was already in the kitchen.
Willy dropped the damp towel onto the floor and grabbed Luka’s wet shirt. “Hey!” Luka shouted, “what are you doing?”
“Changing you? What else?”
Luka’s face became flushed with pink, “I can do it myself.” He grumbled, grabbing the clothes and stomping over to the bathroom.
Willy laughed as Juancho walked over with a tray of 3 hot chocolates. “What?” Juancho asked defensively, feeling Willy’s judgemental stare. “I’m cold as well!”
Luka walked back in, the clothes seemingly fitting him comfortably, grabbed a hot chocolate and melted into the couch. Willy begrudgingly grabbed one and Juancho grabbed the other, placing the tray onto the coffee table.
They sat on either side of Luka, sandwiching him with their warmth. Willy wrapped an arm around Luka’s shoulder while Juancho rested an arm on Luka’s thigh.
“I missed you guys,” Luka spoke tentatively, hands curling tighter around his cup, “like really missed you guys.”
“So you came over here in the rain?” Juancho joked, grabbing the TV remote and passing it to Luka.
“Kinda…” He said softly, resting his head on Willy. “What do you guys even watch nowadays?”
Juancho shrugged, “whatever’s popular, maybe documentaries when I wanna feel smart.”
“Have you watched ‘The Program’ yet?” Luka asked, already searching for it on Netflix. Juancho shook his head and Luka started explaining. “It’s a documentary about a group of people who were sent to an abusive boarding school as children and they’re going back to that school to find evidence of their abuse and it’s just scary for some reason.”
“I would fucking imagine,” Willy muttered, “the teachers probably knew what they were doing was wrong and yet they still did it, that’s terrifying.”
Luka shuddered, “I hate people like that, how do you even want to hurt a child like that?”
Juancho chimed in, “people are fucked up like that, it’s probably the power they like.”
Luka pressed play and the documentary started rolling. In short, it was eye-opening. Willy barely even noticed the time until Juancho started poking him.
“Hey!” Juancho whisper-shouted, “Luka’s asleep, what do we do?”
“Take him to bed, obviously.”
“We don’t have a guest bed!”
“Then take him to my bed.”
“No way!” Juancho scoffed, “I should’ve never asked you.”
“Luka hates your bed.”
“He love me though.”
“Stick that lie up your ass.”
“Stick your ego up your ass.”
