This world is giving our children a fake, madeup #identity. It's up to us to teach them who they are. When people grow up not knowing who they are it makes life more difficult. If they already knew, then they can start their journey on the right path. Abraham gave some excellent advice that is too often over looked by todays christian. Luke 16:29 But Abraham replied, 'They have Moses and the prophets; let your brothers listen to them.' We cannot dismiss the old testament as it is so improperly called but we need to listen to what is written and the lessons given in the stories of history of Israelites. Spiritually we are sons of the creator. Yes we have bodies like everyone else that came from adam, but we received something extra. We received knowledge of what is pleasing to the creaetor and what is not pleasing. With this knowledge we become set apart from other people and families on the earth. Some would label this way of thinking as pompus, or arrogant, or even racist but it is not. It is merely truth and fact. 2 things that always offend ppl who believe what is false. When our children learn the laws and mind of God, they are more pleasing to him, more clean, and able to be blessed with not just a increased portion of his spirit but they also become a blessing to others. Only those living in darkness who hate the light will feel any other way. If you are not teaching your children how to please God, then this world will teach them to displease them, which means you yourself will never be honored before God. Proverbs 22 explains more.
