Thank you all for your prayer and support! Judah has been on a rotation of Tylenol and Motrin since surgery and has been taking fluids since last night and eating a ton of pudding this morning. His body is doing great, and is functioning properly. So good in fact that it’s already been decided he will be coming home this afternoon. He will be out of school for a week and has follow up appointments scheduled to keep an eye on his progress. We have been seeing him steadily develop over the last 7 months even though he had enlarged ventricles (more fluid on the brain than he should) Our hope and belief is that with this new shunt working properly we will see even more developmental progress in Judah now more than ever. Please keep praying with us. We are so glad to be coming home but we still have some hurdles. One we need him to get back in his schedule and in the name of Jesus with no sleep aides. Two we need his wounds to stay infection free and heal nicely. 3 no more shunt issues, we are believing we will not have any issues with shunt failure moving forward. And finally that Dana lets me give him a mullet as they shaved one side of his head for surgery and now we have a great start to a wicked awesome mullet. Seriously cannot express how grateful we are for the amazing support and encouragement everyone has been. In case you didn’t know...God is good!! Judah just got out of surgery. Turns out due to him responding so well to having his shunt tapped they almost didn’t operate. However Dana felt something was wrong and pushed to have it swapped. Even after all the imaging of X-ray, ct scan and MRI it showed no issues. But Dana told them she still wanted it changed out. Turns out that when they went in to change the shunt that all the tubing in his brain and abdomen were good. But the shunt itself had a clot that would have never been found in imaging. Meaning if Dana had not pushed to have the shunt replaced it would have been a matter of a few days or a week before we would have had the same issues and would have been back in the ER Please continue to pray for a fast recovery, no infection and that Judah would come home tomorrow. Judah was just brought back for surgery. They are going to change the shunt and potentially some of the tubing that goes into his brain. The surgery should last somewhere between 45-90 mins. Please pray for guidance of the surgeons hands. That we get the best shunt possible that we will not have issues with and for protection from infection and a quick recovery. Judah has calmed down and is finally resting. The swelling of his eyes has gone down and he just finished an MRI and blood work in preparation for surgery. He should go in for surgery later tonight or first thing in the morning. Please be praying for him to get in ASAP and a quick recovery. Also for Health and strength for Dana as she is still dealing with nausea from the pregnancy. We can’t thank you all enough for the continued support and prayers. Judah Update- He has undergone a CT scan and ultrasound to evaluate his shunt. They tapped the shunt (drew fluid from it) and found it was under pressure. When they did this he calmed down and opened his eyes. They are admitting him to the hospital for evaluation and depending on how he does he may end up in surgery tomorrow to replace his shunt. Please pray for Judah’s complete healing and peace for our family. Please pray... Judah spent the last few days doing great and not utilizing any sleep aides. However last night he was cranky and irritable and required sleep aides. When we checked the camera in his room he did not fall sleep until 645am after having his sleep aides at 730pm the night before. We have not been able to wake him up and his eyes seem to be swollen. After reviewing his camera last night he has fallen out of bed multiple times and is exhibiting odd behavior. We are not sure if it’s his shunt or if he’s starting to have seizures again. Dana is taking him to the ER as I type this. Please pray with us that there is a simple resolution and it’s not seizures or something that requires surgery. Praise the Lord!!! This wild child is clear. There was no infection in his spinal/brain fluid! As a matter of fact after being out of school for a month he is released and is going back tomorrow!!
