Noodle Fishing For Catching Tons Of Catfish
Noodle fishing is a term that has really only become popular in the last five to ten years. Noodle fishing is also not to be confused with "noodling" which is the sport of hand fishing by running your hand into a hole in attempts to grab a catfish.
Noodle fishing is the sport of jug fishing but some anglers often refer to it as noodle fishing because of the popular way many anglers build their fishing juglines.
It has become quite common practice to use closed cell polyethylene foam (also known as swimming pool noodles) to make and build jug lines for catfishing so the term noodle fishing has gained popularity. This is really just a slang term for jug fishing for catfish.
Building noodles is something that can be done using a very simple approach or an even more advanced one. Some anglers prefer the simplistic approach of just cutting a short section of the swimming pool noodle and attaching a length of braided nylon twine, a hook and a small split shot weight. These setup is then baited and allowed to float in the water (hopefully catching catfish) and is most often referred to as a drifting jugline.
