Not gonna lie I've never studied a day in my life and gotten pretty good grades anyway but this year it's been going downhill and next year I'm taking a few APs... Do you have any advice for getting into a studying habit? I'm currently trying journaling but it isn't working out too well (thanks!!! Ps I love your blog!!!)
Oh man that’s a pit I’ve seen a lot of friends fall into - when you sail through elementary and middle school you don’t always develop good study habits and then you hit high school and BAM it’s like being thrown into a shark tank and it’s a whole new game. Pro tip to incoming freshmen: don’t do the thing.
This is a very broad question though!! I don’t really know what your areas of weakness are. I would agree that bullet journaling isn’t the best fix for someone who has never studied before, because you need to figure out how to organize and prioritize yourself first. If you’re looking for actual links I’d link you to my studying masterpost.
In general, make sure you’re always doing your homework, have all of the necessary handouts, and take notes. Keep them all in the same place (I recommend a binder or folder system). Write down any questions you have right away so you can address them with a peer/tutor/teacher ASAP. Now I’m just quoting my study process so I’d actually just go look at that haha that’s my usual system for studying, and it’s pretty simple and easy to follow I think!
When in doubt, never hesitate to talk to your teacher or a guidance counselor! They have a lot of resources and a shortage of students who reach out to them for help.
If you have any specific questions let me know! I’m just bad at answering super broad questions like “how do I study” etc. Best of luck with everything!
