KV PLAYED GAMES THIS YEAR - BEST MUSIC EDITION
Truth be told, I played another game but no one uploads music for Wii Fit! Why you guys hatin'? Wii Fit U actually has some fun music...
Anyway. Sonic Lost World boasts a soundtrack that is just as impressive as... well, any other Sonic game released in the past few years. The composers at Sonic Team really know how to make a super fun soundtrack that goes along with the action almost perfectly. For a while I was worried I'd love the first song of the game, Windy Hill, and the rest of the soundtrack would be OK but never live up to it.
But then there's this track. Juice Archipelago, plays in Act 2 and Act 4 of the Wii U version of Lost World (I believe it plays in Act 1 on the 3DS). This is just a SUPER FUN and jamming song. I end up dancing to it with my upper body when playing the stages. And the stages it plays for are very solid and a ton of fun. It gets that perfect sense of a tropical feeling, but also not losing the energy you'd hope to hear in a Sonic song. I can just picture the Piantas from Mario Sunshine jamming to this and going, "why wasn't this in our game" because this is probably my favorite "beach/tropical" type son I've heard ever. Even as I type this I keep taking breaks just to dance a bit because it's that groovin'.
Not much else to say about it other than how it keeps its pace up, and manages to never get old. I think I listened to this song on an hour loop at one point and when it was done I was like, "wait it's over? that was over too fast..." Yeah, I'm weird, but that's just HOW GOOD this song is. If I had to go through ALL OF THE GAMES I played this year and pick ONLY ONE song... ...well that would be really hard, but this song has the strongest likelihood of being named my #1 Song of the Year. It's just that full of energy and that fun. Gosh darn it Sonic Team, stop being amazing. ...wait, don't do that, then dumbass angry reviewers and fanboys will want to kill you. Godspeed.
Runner-ups:
-Windy Hill (duh. Look forward to this song in the next Smash)
-Sky Road (very good and a different change of pace, amazing in its own right... I just love the tropical scene a bit more, ^^; )
