i am extremely busy (more than I'd prefer!) but it's mostly doing things i am glad to be doing (DJ gigs! land stewardship! teaching drag workshops! taking BPI classes! advising comrades about solar! visiting with loved ones! goth festival this weekend!)
at my anniversary ritual with Dionysos in February, the theme I got for my year was "bloom"
and then the second theme I have received for my year is Step Up Your Ancestor Practice
(my mundane theme is Hustle Harder Baby Get That Damn Money which is responsible for the extreme busyness but a little fire under the ass isn't always a bad thing)
anyhow: I'm hitting some big synchronicity wrt my conjure practice. I have a need, and I come across a solution. the other day I had a hunch to look into a particular root, and I noticed it's not native to the US, it's from Central America, so how would that be traditionally used in hoodoo? then today I learned that an expert who reviewed some historical writing on hoodoo hypothesizes that the actual root referred to by that common name is one that's native here - the same one I suspected. WORD. my seasonal allergies kicked in today, and I remembered I have dried mullein and dead nettle from the yard, which make a tea that's great for that specifically - I am drinking it now and feeling better already. I'm grieving my grandmother, and a former peer in the hoodoo world shared a formula for a spiritual bath specifically for healing through grief. I need some five-finger grass for a working - and it's growing wild out front. I'm looking for a new divination system... and my (white??) friend is gifted a bones bag from a rootworking elder in her spiritual group. I asked her to break down what each item is and what it represents in a reading, and she was up for it, so now I have started gathering components for my own set. it is pop-pop-poppin off over here
two separate diviners have nudged me towards a particular ancestor I'm aware of but haven't properly met, and as I'm trying to work out how to connect with her, I hear some advice on resetting the ancestor altar to allow deeper communion with ancestors further up the line. oh word?
now I need to reconfigure my time management during the week to prioritize this work alongside the work that pays me money. but audhd brain is real and getting ANY work done is a struggle. I am working through it and making progress! making bigass things happen this year
