trying to make things make sense in (novel) like specifically why fmc, who is a selkie and afraid/wary of men/non selkies on principle would be at all willing to save mmc and nurse him back to health despite the risks. but! here’s the thing… sometimes empathy wins. and… she’s really fucking weird fhdjdj so it makes a whole lot of sense that she’d keep a mostly unconscious man around to hand feed like a pet

i’m gonna start posting abt my book.

kinda wanted mmc to be a deconstruction of the quiet, brooding, and overly masculine type male love interest in romantasy. (he has social anxiety.) but i realized quickly that i can’t bc 1 he’s the first chapter’s pov character, the cat is out of the bag immediately re: his sweetboy nature. and further, he himself told me that when he’s alone on adventuring missions, he maps out the location in his head and schedules in blocks of time for decompression/hiding. yes, he’s autistic.

I have many complaints and criticisms of the romantasy genre, but one of my top has to be the MMC of ambiguous “tan” race.
