quick portrait drawing of the artist Jean Baptiste Vandevelde, mars 2019.
me drawing with the two painters, Jean Christophe Wallaert and Jean Baptiste Vandevelde.
detail from a recent sketch
I was looking through a journal and found this today:
Bruxelles. To me, you are many things but not love. Not desire. You’re gusto at the lava cafe, the General Bazaar, the weird tension between Catsmoke & I. Tripple Karmaliet & Westmalle Dubbel. The sound of a tram bell, you’re the exki recup. We’re on Claire’s terrasse above the Chicago cafe, or at the secret garden. The end of the jeu de balle. the vieux marché. Drunken people in the street amongst the wafting smell of warm sweet waffles. Thunderstorms. Feeling ghostly and liberated. You’re the castle. Chez-soi. You’re my hesitation. I wonder about you. We stay up talking too late. I should take notes. I should write down all the things I want to say. I should write down things I say in the way that I say them not because I’m special(I’m not) but because YOU don’t say them that way.
