In September I started actively tracking the songs that had an impact on me. Here’s a reasonably representative selection from 2015.
SJD (feat Julia Deans) - Little Pieces. This list isn’t in any particular order, but SJD is my all-time favourite artist, so he always gets top billing. Luckily Julia Deans is also one of my all-time favourite artists, so double-whammy. I heard this first at Big Day Out 2014, and had to wait over a year before hearing it again.
Infinite - Dilemma. My favourite K-pop group does J-Rock, courtesy of Tomoyasu Hotei, AKA the guy behind the Kill Bill title tra - OH GOD DONGWOO LOOKS SO GOOD THEY ALL LOOK SO GOOD (sobbing)
Blood Orange - Sandra’s Smile. The harmonies in this chorus follow an advanced mathematical formula, optimising for maximum Heather-swoon.
Crayon Pop - FM. If Crayon Pop turned out to be a front for a real-life secret organisation of superhero vigilantes, my first reaction would be “whoa, that really exists??” but my second reaction would be “Crayon Pop. Yeah, that figures”.
Beenzino - Break. Head-banging, k-hop styles.

SHINee - Odd Eye (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQbtuQ2-2WQ - live). I feel like this is what Justin Bieber *should* be doing.
alt-J - Every Other Freckle (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-mhgfXgwdls - slightly NSFW). Not released in 2015, but it’s on high-rotate on the aging-hipster radio station that gets played in our office. alt-J were a slow burner.
GOT7 - Just Right (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrdk3IGcau8). This song makes me so happy
