Julia Messenger Comes Alive on New Release
Julia Messenger releases her latest single “And We Danced”, a soft-rock song with incorporated elements of pop. Julia’s deep set vocals with the minor set guitar creates a mysterious vibe with the darker set tones. Her intense, sultry voice draws the listeners in and hypnotizes them to listen to the message of the song. Julia shares the emotions coming from broken relationships and each person’s internal struggles of attempting to identify what went wrong. Julia is a woman of many accolades. From a young age, she knew she wanted to travel down the path of a vocal career. She participated in school plays and pushed herself to get better. In high school, Julia and her sisters formed an a cappella group known as “the messenger sisters”. They rapidly gained popularity in their hometown of Melbourne, Australia and Julia knew that her future was music. Julia graduated from the Melbourne Conservatorium with a Bachelor of Music with a concentration in opera. She was offered a spot with The Victorian State Opera, but she turned it down to continue to pursue her passion of being an artist. Julia is universally recognized as a “world-class” singer. The song begins with a very catchy, groovy guitar rhythm. Julia’s voice enters the first verse in a very dizzying and exotic way. The feel of the song is very much like an intimate and dramatic storyline. This story sounds somewhat personal and emotionally tiresome. This song contrasts to some of Julia’s other more peppy songs. Julia is great at blending genres together while still making her voice the center of attention. She fuses jazz, pop, and rock together in “And We Danced” to create this sensual rhythm that hypnotizes every listener. Julia’s voice breaks through the tension and lures us to her next train of thought. Julia has a very unique voice. However, there are a few artists whose voices can draw a nice comparison to Julia’s. Donna Summer is one artist that comes to mind. Donna was always known to have a sultry and seductive voice in her songs and Julia gives off a similar vibe. When Julia hits those higher notes, she can sound very closely like Donna in many of her first releases. Julia’s electronic instrumentation seems to derive from Annie Lennox as she was an inspiration to electronic artists in the 80s. The deeply emotional stories that Julia tells are much like that of Norah Jones, who always sang on a down to earth and heartfelt level. “And We Danced” carries a catchy tune with a sad and longing message about lost love. We are looking forward to Julia’s album release and encourage everyone to listen to Julia’s latest single in the meantime.
