A lot of people tell me that my bisexuality is a phase. It's common, but still insulting. I dated a lovely girl for over a year, and after we've broken up I have dated a guy. (It ended, but still.) People keep telling me that my "phase" is over and I'm straight again. How do I respond to such ignorance and homophobia?
Or, to save on postage:
Look them in the eye. Dead in the eye. Smile pleasantly. And say “I love how you think I’ll give a fuck about your stupid opinion. It’s cute.” Then pat them condescendingly on the head and walk away.
Turn them into a llama?
Tell them “Oh, I see you’re not currently eating anything. So glad you grew out of that stupid phase of eating stuff, it’s really gross. Now you can use your mouth for SUCKING MY DICK, motherfucker” (last part optional)
Flip them off, roll your eyes, and carry on.
Explain it if that person is willing to listen? Then again, if they were you probably wouldn’t be writing to us so nah, scratch that.
Look horrified and say “WHAT? Are you serious? I”m…. STRAIGHT?” then go into a Wicked-Witch-of-the-West-esque “I’M MELTING” sequence until they get freaked out and leave
"Yes, because when you’re reading/watching [book/movie they love] you obviously don’t like [other book/movie they love]. Because that’s how liking things works. You can only like one thing at a time. You’re so clever, figuring that out all on your own.”
Use one of these insults.
Or you could start a fight with them and just feel annoyed for the next ten days, it’s really your call.
Any other ideas, people?
