Julian Rocks
I just had one of the most amazing experiences of my life. And I think to myself. . . How many amazing experiences I have had and omygoodness how many more are to come. I decided I am going to make a list to elucidate how awesome my life is and how grateful I am!!!
So. . . I was a tad bit nervous about snorkeling at Julian Rocks. What sane person wouldn’t be, they are risks doing so. I hop out of the boat and what’s the first thing I see? A freaking shark. It was insane. Of course that would be the first things directly beneath me. But the shark didn’t bother me. Sharks actually have a must worse reputation then necessary. They are extremely friendly creatures unless threatened or they need to eat. Just like any other animal. Humans are much worse.
But anyway, I instantly saw a Sea Turtle and it was stunning. Especially seeing it go up for air. And then I saw a HUGE Bull Ray gliding on the ocean floor. I told our guide all this and he laughed saying I was better at spotting things than he was.
A little later on I was with Josh, Kyle, and Marissa. We were all staring at a shark, but it looked right at me and started swimming closer. I simply began swimming behind those three, however, the shark followed. I popped my head above the water thinking, “If you can’t see it, it’s not there.” Hoping the shark wouldn’t come any closer. Then Kyle popped his head up and said, “Morgan don’t move the shark is directly below you.” In which I replied, “I’m trying not to freak the f*** out right now.” We all laughed once the shark swam away.
And there was this moment where I was snorkeling and felt something skim my back. I turned around at it was a turtle. We are told to stay two meters away from turtles so I tried to swim backwards, but it kept coming to me. We made eye contact and I hope that turtle remembers me forever which is a silly thought. But it’s my thought nonetheless because I’ll remember that turtle forever. We began to glide underwater together. And I followed the turtle’s instructions not to fight the current but flow with it. That’s what we did and it was brilliant.
And then I saw a family of Bull Rays. They are stunning creatures and the most graceful I’ve ever encountered. There ended up being a ton of sharks, but they kept to themselves. That’s more than I can say about some tourists on another boat. They didn’t respect the animals like they should have.
Oh! We also saw Dory and a Pufferfish and all sorts. How awesome!
And then that night I went to the Beach Hotel with everyone (except those who refuse to acknowledge our existence) and the band was fantastic! We danced the night away.
And I met the man I am in love with, his name is Pablo from Argentina. Too bad I will never see him again. That makes me sad, he was perfect. Anyway, that’s all for now.
