"A ritual staff used by one of the evil Skeksis rulers in the prequel series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance (Netflix, 2019).
The staff features an ornate top section that includes a purple resin sphere held in a resin point-down triangle frame. The frame is designed in the instantly recognizable Skeksis style known as "Garthic," which was created by skekEkt the Ornamentalist and features characteristics such as "emerging skeleton imagery" that make it so distinguishable. The staff also contains a leather mid-handle, including threading and hair detailing. Holes are present in the mid-section of the staff, which were used to secure it in the puppet hands of whichever Skeksis held it on-screen. The remainder of the staff is resin with gold-tone thread detailing and a resin lower tip.
Staffs such as this are seen held in the hands of most of the Skeksis when they conduct a ritual, such as gathering in the Chamber of the Crystal to draw energy from the Crystal of Truth, or a punishment ritual, such as the one seen in the end of episode two, "Nothing Is Simple Anymore," where they sick the Peeper Beetle on skekTek the Scientist.
