"A Skeksis sword from Jeffrey Addiss' and Will Matthews' The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. The Jim Henson-designed creatures were described by concept artist Brian Froud as a mix of reptile, predatory bird, and dragon. The Skeksis used a variety of swords and weapons in their showdown with the Gelfling resistance during the Second Battle of Stone-in-Wood.

This rubber sword features a textured black and gold-color striped handle and a curved silver-color blade with gold-color inlays and two curved cutouts. It exhibits slight cracking and paint chipping. Dimensions: 26.5" x 5" x 2.5" (67.25 cm x 12.75 cm x 6.5 cm)"

Skeksis Ritual Staff Prop, from the Jim Henson Company 70th Anniversary Auction on Julien's Auctions. Lot 90, sold for $5,120.

"A ritual staff used by one of the evil Skeksis rulers in the prequel series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance (Netflix, 2019). 

The staff features an ornate top section that includes a purple resin sphere held in a resin point-down triangle frame. The frame is designed in the instantly recognizable Skeksis style known as "Garthic," which was created by skekEkt the Ornamentalist and features characteristics such as "emerging skeleton imagery" that make it so distinguishable. The staff also contains a leather mid-handle, including threading and hair detailing. Holes are present in the mid-section of the staff, which were used to secure it in the puppet hands of whichever Skeksis held it on-screen. The remainder of the staff is resin with gold-tone thread detailing and a resin lower tip. 

Staffs such as this are seen held in the hands of most of the Skeksis when they conduct a ritual, such as gathering in the Chamber of the Crystal to draw energy from the Crystal of Truth, or a punishment ritual, such as the one seen in the end of episode two, "Nothing Is Simple Anymore," where they sick the Peeper Beetle on skekTek the Scientist.

Please note: some damage is present to the resin throughout due to production usage and aging, as well as some foam remnants present from prior storage."

"SkekZok the Ritual Master's decorative staff topper prototype from Jim Henson's and Frank Oz's fantasy adventure film The Dark Crystal. Ritual Master skekZok features several crescent moon motifs throughout his ensemble.

Derived from Brian Fround's concept art but ultimately unused, this topper prototype is painted to resemble gray metal with a green patina, featuring a textured scale-like finish, inlaid red faux crystal eyes, a claw holding a faux indigo translucent faux crystal, and yellow resin talons. It is mounted to a black painted wood base. The topper exhibits light scratching and minor chipping. Dimensions: 4.5" x 3" x 7" (11.5 cm x 7.75 cm x 18 cm)"

"A production-made Skeksis sword from Jim Henson's and Frank Oz' The Dark Crystal. Skeksis settled their disputes with a ritual known as the Trial by Stone, in which the feuding Skeksis would take turns striking the Haakskeekhah Stone with large swords, with the winner being whichever Skeksis hacked off the largest chunk of the stone.

This metal sword, while cast from the same molds at the same time as those seen in the final cut of the film, differs in its coloring and details. It is painted bronze-color and consists of a long, curved metal blade with jagged hook-like indentations; and an elaborately detailed fiberglass handguard over a wire frame with a gold-color, cord-wrapped handle and a pommel with sculpted talons. It exhibits paint chipping throughout, cracks in the handguard, and small pieces broken off. Dimensions: 64" x 16" x 9" (162.75 cm x 40.75 cm x 23 cm)"

"SkekUng the Garthim-Master artwork hand-painted by conceptual and creature designer Brian Froud for the production of Frank Oz's and Jim Henson's The Dark Crystal.

skekUng is hand-painted onto a card panel with Froud's name hand-signed and the date "1981" inscribed within the artwork in the bottom right corner. Additional annotations of "20.5%" is handwritten inside the bottom border of the piece, while "104.7%", "13 3/8" and "76%" are handwritten inside the right border, with all these inscriptions rendered in pencil.

This artwork appears on page 91 of The World of the Dark Crystal book, which describes it as "a vivid portrait of skekUng the Garthim-Master clutching his staff of power. Much of skekUng's power must have come from his ability to assume positions of geometric harmony, unusual for a Skeksis; the overlay in the portrait clearly reveals this." "Skeksil the Chamberlain's cloak pin prototype from Jim Henson's and Frank Oz's fantasy adventure The Dark Crystal. Chamberlain wore his cloak pin throughout the film as he schemed to become the Skeksis' Emperor.

Created by The Jim Henson Company, this resin pin is hand-painted brown and yellow to resemble stone and bone. It features 10 bone spikes, seven faux rubies inset on the front, and an unfinished back. The lot exhibits missing and chipped pieces, and white staining to the resin from exposure. "SkekUng the Garthim-Master's production-made armor and costume components from Jim Henson's and Frank Oz's fantasy adventure The Dark Crystal. SkekUng wore his armor while commanding Garthim forces against the Gelflings.

Made of fiberglass and resin, the set includes multi-color plates; a talon and beak; a Skeksis head with green patina; silver- and pewter-color painted simulated metal components and a faux orange crystal. A Polaroid photograph of unpainted and unfinished skekUng costume components is included. The armor and components exhibit wear, paint chipping, adhesive residue, and a missing talon.
