July 7th, 2001 - Aaliyah drops her 3rd (and sadly final) highly anticipated self-titled (red album) in Japan. The USA gets their hands on the album July 17th.
Sadly, Aaliyah passed away {along with eight others} August 25th 2001, which caused promotion and further production of the album (even touring) to be grounded to a halt.
Much respect and big thank you to @Aaliyah, @missymisdemeanorelliott, @timbaland, @ericseats, Static/Major, @raptracks, @buddamann1, @dubzworld, @blackplaya502, @therealtank for your musical genius.
Thank you to @jonathanmannion, @david_lachapelle, @albertwatsonphotography, @jeffdunas and @warrenjfu for the beautiful amazing photography and pure beauty that was captured.
Thank you @prettybirdpic, @davemeyers and @hypewilliams for directing and giving us visuals into Aaliyah’s essence and beauty. I bet behind the scenes was a blast.
Finally, Thank you Miss Diane and @radmax6 for being there for Aaliyah, giving her the courage and strengths to not give up on her dreams and just supporting her through everything.
🕊️🕊️ Finally, forever in our hearts and prayers … Aaliyah | Gina Smith | Keith Wallace | Douglas Kratz | Scott Gallin | Eric Forman | Anthony Dodd | Christopher Maldonado | AND … the pilot Luis Maradel lll
