Hello everyone! New gal on Tumblr, and I thought I'd start sharing something a bit personal here. This year I decided to join in July for Loki, and I'm sharing Daily posts on IG. I thought I'd share them here too, starting from the first one.
I chose to follow a prompt list by Nemeton Deuognaton named 30 Days of Deity Devotion, which is apt for any deity of course. Friendly reminder, these are my personal thoughts and experience. I'm not here to teach, I just love to share with fellow pagans. All opinions are welcome, just be respectful.
Does Loki really need an intro? I mean. He’s probably the most talked-about deity of the Norse pantheon, maybe of most pantheons, if not of all. Here’s a few things about him I learned myself. He’s a Trickster. A liminal figure, not intrinsically good nor evil (which deity is?). A guardian of the edges, a keeper of the Dead, a traveller of the Wyrd. A caring father to his children, both human and otherworldly. A lover of laughter and jest, a jokester, both good-hearted and mischievous. An avenger of injustice, a defender of all that are victims, a warrior against all that is wrong. A champion of the outcasts, teaching them how to fight for their lives, for their true selves. He’s my Father, he’s been with me for as long as I can remember, and he means so much to me I can’t really use human words to describe him.
