People think that Jumbo Cactuar having 10,000 power on attack is insane or game breaking for MtG, but I just had a game of Arena where my opponent got a creature up to 1.4 billion +1/+1 counters.

And I beat it with a tiny deathtoucher, because they didn't give it trample before attacking.

And unfortunately for them, I was also playing a Vorinclex +1/+1 counter deck, and with all my counter ups and doublers, I got all of my creatures to at least 10,000 counters and attacked full force.

So, I don't think Jumbo Cactuar is as big a deal as some people are making it out to be.

I decided to just attempt to defeat Ultimecia without unlocking all of our abilities in Ultimecia’s castle or getting all of the extra summons because I was feeling impatient... I honestly didn’t expect to succeed.

I remember like 12 years ago when I first played this, the final battle was really hard for me... Like frustratingly hard - trying twenty+ times and just barely winning when I finally got it... but we were all level 99 and I don’t think I fully understood the junction system (and I learned after leveling that high that the monsters level with you and that makes it harder... unlike every other final fantasy game in existence) but I also think my strategy might have just fucking sucked... because the final battles were really easy for me this time.  Ridiculously easy.  Like Ultimecia’s final form - I just cast triple and haste on everyone triple-cast Ultima, Meteor, or Flare, and triple cast cure or cura (one on each character) every time she did that attack that leaves everyone with 1 HP. I had no trouble at all... It was very robotic... I just did that over and over and no one got KO-ed even once...

My character levels are in the forties... And I did have some pretty good magic junctioned, but still... I figure if the bosses level with you, it would be easier to be level 40 than 99... but it wasn’t even almost hard... I don’t even have the good weapons...

I really do have to wonder if teenage-me was playing this game like a fucking frantic idiot... I feel like I might have been - like maybe my struggle with it stemmed from me attacking rapidly with no regard to defense or something... I cannot see how I had so much trouble with it back then when I didn’t even unlock limit breaks or item use this time and only had to try once...

Anyway... I’ve still got some trophies and extra summons I might work on if I feel like it... There’s a lot about this game I completely forgot.  It’s been a pretty fun nostalgia trip. Back in high school Final Fantasy and Lord of the Rings was like all I cared about.
