it drives me crazy when chunks of text are arbitrarily written in future-in-the-past. like (made-up example) "he would achieve international acclaim when his first album would top the charts--he would later accrue a large fanbase who would dutifully support him." like. why. what past event are we speaking relative to. how can that past event (if there is one) possibly remain structurally relevant so many clauses later.

Since all these other asks are fandom adjacent I'm assuming this is restricted to bad fandom takes and uh. Oh boy. Where do I start.
I've seen a lot but the worst are always when people just, blatantly misinterpret a character or a story and it's themes.
That being said, I think a lot of the worst I've seen came from when "Steven Universe critical" blogs were really active on Tumblr. There were a lot of valid criticisms people had to be fair, like the show's treatment of black characters and things like the mishandling of Lapis' character or the entirety of Gem Harvest, but. It was all sandwiched between complete and utter inanity like "Fusions are 100% analogous to sex, so Stevonnie is a problematic character and evidence of Rebecca Sugar being a pedophile"....... I fucking wish I was joking, that take was so popular I had it repeated back to me IRL
4. what was the last straw that made you finally block that annoying person?
Nothing specific comes to mind tbh. I've blocked people in fandom over really petty things. 1 bad take about my blorbo and it's to the dungeon with you
